I’ve just got this feeling that he isn’t going to sign a new deal. I hope I am wrong based on this year so far as he has been playing well and his ability to play through the middle or out on the left is valuable but I think he might go.

He is spinning us along till his contract ends , I dont for 1 min think celtic have not attempted to offer a deal for an important player in our squad as has been quoted , but we are hearing nothing and no 1 is asking the question or getting an answer , its pretty * annoying tbh , if there is no chance of him staying be * up front about it , I think we respect honesty more and this is more the reason the fans started to turn against him a bit .

Even if he is to * off in January, keep him unless we get a decent bit of money (5-7 mil I've seen mentioned would do) if it's down at the 1/2 mil mentioned earlier in the window * off. If he stays get a January pre contract signed so we have someone to join right away

I wouldn’t over estimate Celtic tbh.

Supposedly he’s on a paltry contract and the extension we’ve offered is a modest increase.

All speculation of course and no on really knows, but I wouldn’t say it’s a sure thing we offered him a decent contract reflecting his position in the squad.

I think our problem is we’ll offer Christie an amount which is better than he’s getting elsewhere unless he goes to a * English club or somewhere like Qatar/Arabia or whatever it was. So he has a choice between * wage or * football.

I would prefer we offer him a fair contract that reflects his position in the squad.

Was the CP £7m offer for a midfielder actually Christie and not CalMac? It would make more sense.

Prefer to keep him in the form he’s in. Get it done.

Give him a Stuart Armstrong type contract. Getting worrying still hasn’t signed.

What a boost if he were to sign new deal.
That would be our midfield in good nick-any 3 from him, Tam, DT and CMcG. With the likes of Soro, JMcC and Bitton for game management, seeing out games. Plenty scope for resting one of that 4 also

Everyone wanted him gone now after a couple decent games , people are dying for him to stay and sign a new contract. Sorry but he’s had ages to sign something, just get rid now and get some cash in , probably still wants to leave anyway, or run down his contract, him and eddy need sold now.

Yeah I'd like him to stay because he seems to have taken to this system and playing well under a manager with an actual gameplan, but I'm not kidding myself on, he's gone. People that keep saying about him (or Eddy) that we just need to offer them a big contract for a year extension, they can play well and get themselves a good move next summer, everybody wins, are deluding themselves. They'll both have had new contract offers on the table for at least a year, it's not happening.

He started the season frightening, leaving or not, if he plays that well and puts in that amount of effort up until he leaves 100% keep him. What’s the point in recouping a couple million thats never going to get reinvested in a replacement for him? We’re not getting above 2/3 million( if that) for a guy who’s contract runs out in january.

Reports of us not offering a contract smacks of Lawwell betting that a guy that’s happy here will accept anything. He done it from as far back as Jackie McNamara.

Wasn't it widely reported that there was an offer on the table though?

I'm pretty sure Jackie said that he was only contacted in the car when on the way to Wolves.

:56:then yes, Christie has had a contract on the table for a long time. It's clear he's on the 2ay out imo

If he's on the way out, can't fault his effort. Works as hard as anyone. I'd prefer he stayed but if he wants away, no point in keeping him.

Really is short sighted. Particularly as he seems to suit the style of play being developed now, has removed some of his annoying shooting habits and actually looks to be thriving on it. If that is what has happened then he has every right to run down his contract.

We'll end up losing him and then spending money on various project players that never work out.
