Arsenal though? I’d rather work for minimum wage. :84:

They're not great shakes at the minute by any means but they're still one of the biggest clubs in the country behind United and Liverpool. He's helped them win the FA cup whilst he's been down there and he's been a standout. The fans love him, some want him to be there next captain.

Whilst the team has been poor his stock has continued to rise, Arsenal for the past 15 years have been a stepping stone for the real elite teams.

He'll not be sticking around much longer if he keeps performing the way he is, I suspect the new contract was signed because Arsenal know he will have suitors.

They are a basket case, but he’s made his choice so not our club’s problem anymore.

Same old statement challenge myself etc, I don’t buy it, maybe one of the reason but not the main one, main one was cash but no sane player will admit that these days.

It's understandable he left when u see the kind of money he is on but I have to agree with you about the sound bites in this particular case. If KT was offered 100k p/w to stay with Celtic or 100k p/w to go to Arsenal I think he's staying with us every time.

So that cuts out the testing himself in a better league straight away. :56: The quicker people realise he is just a normal footballer and not some hardcore Provo Tim the better.

Exactly I think in KT's case he would have stayed here for life if we could have hypothetically matched EPL wages.

Fair enough. We'll never genuinely know so it just comes down to a matter of opinion.

He would have stayed for longer, not for life, if we never ran him into the ground, showed no concern about his health and threatened his career.

Don’t think I’ll ever forgive Rodgers for that, because he knew what he was doing, he’s to good with sports science and fitness to not know. He was doing similar with McGregor and was just lucky he’s a freak of nature with just how many games he can endure.

If we had a spare £150k a week and could pish over his £80k odd the now it’s a no brainer to be fair.

No player with his ability is wasting their career in a league as poor as this.

No matter what money he was offered here he was always going to go and test himself at a higher level.

He wanted to go to Everton the season before. Everton were put off by the price tag

They probably would if our board had ambition and regularly went on a decent run in Europe each season

    Brilliant post
Long term Rodgers has shortened Tierney’s career, you can see how he struggles now to play a run of games

McGregor was second choice behind Rogic and Ntcham for the start of Rodgers tenure

Ntcham wasn’t even there until the 2nd season. And I think it was his second season when McGregor had played the most amount of minutes in world football.

Yea, I also think Ntcham only appeared like every second game in that 2017-18 season.

Fair enough. I thought he was more sporadic but maybe that’s just because my lasting memory of him will be from the last couple of seasons where he wasn’t in the starting 11 for spells.
