So by that logic, if Kyogo or Abada score then we shouldn’t celebrate that either? Or if the team win as a result of new signings playing well, then we shouldn’t celebrate?

Sorry, just trying to understand the ground rules.

    What a * awful take.

He did well. He ensured that we kept a clean sheet in Europe. These things build confidence and keep up momentum.

People are happy that we've a keeper making saves and keeping clean sheets. Do you also rain on people's parade when Kyogo scores a goal or Abada gets an assists because that's why they were signed.

    Unreal.

Made a couple of saves which were probably standard but they kept us a clean sheet and were more than our other keepers probably would have managed

It’s what makes Celtic supporters special. We rally around our goalkeepers/new signings and really give them encouragement. I think the reaction was mainly a way of giving Joe a big hug and saying welcome to the family.

They weren’t particularly great saves.. they were sort of straight at him but they were good saves. However they were massive saves in the context of the past two seasons. The moment was going to come when Joe was asked to make a big save. That moment came last night and he passed with flying colours. Now we can move on knowing we have a competent goalkeeper. Barkas was also paid to make saves but he never did.

I've been reasonably impressed. Though the two saves were good but was also impressed with his command of the box and his distribution. One tight * moment but it added to the excitement.

He's obviously not great with the ball at his feet. I know that Ange wants his keeper to pass the ball out but, sometimes he needs to realise that he will be closed down very quickly by the opposition (as they will also know this) and that he will need to hoof the ball up the park sometimes. It's just good to know that we have a guy between the sticks that actually can pull of saves and I'm sure the defence will be glad of that.

There’s very few keepers that are good with their feet and they tend to be going for £50million+
I’d rather have a great shop stopper as a goalie rather than someone who wants be Pirlo and uses his hands for scratching his balls when there is actual saves to be made.
Forster or Gordon weren’t great with their feet but Hart isn’t far off that style of player and we done ok with them.
He brings leadership and confidence to the defence and rest of the team knowing if we are playing sexy fitbaw and mistakes are made he can step up and make the saves.
Never underestimate the effect a decent goalie has on a team.

We're yet to see how good he will be but he's made a promising start. It just shows how starved of a decent goalie we have been that those two saves were greeted with such positivity.

Definitely Senna. As you say, I would rather we had a keeper who can actually make saves than some smart * who thinks he's actually no bad with the ball at his feet.

I know Angeball involves the keeper playing it about at the back but after the goalkeeping disaster we've had to endure recently we should be grateful we just have a goalkeeper who can save shots and organise a defence. If Hart isnt comfortable with ball at his feet then Big Ange will just have to accept that the best option is to hoof it into row Z at times rather than giving the ball away to the oncoming striker. Its not ideal but for now Celtic can play Angeball while Hart plays Hoofball otherwise prepare for some cringe-worthy goals scored against us.

For me he communicates and commands the defence levels above what we previously had. I don’t think it’s by coincidence we’ve played far better since he’s came in to the team.

i’m excited for the guy I think he’ll prove to be a good signing.

The reaction last night from the crowd on the double save was one of the biggest I have ever heard, relative to the position we were in. 7-2 up against Jablonec in years gone by would have been met by no more than a decent applause from the crowd. The reaction showed how utterly starved we were were of a goalkeeper ACTUALLY making a save of any note. I may be mistaken, but as far as my memory serves, last night was the first save of any note that ive seen a Celtic keeper make in almost a year and a half, going through an entire season alone.
