People make Ronny to be far better than he was the more time goes on, it’s like when a player get’s injured and suddenly we all think he’s the missing key and better than he is even if it’s a bit part player.

Deila's second season was brutal.

 

So was his first up to Christmas, then it was * hot for a brief period when he paired Van Dijk and Denayer and we had two playmakers of defenders. Nice guy and that but a terrible manager for me. As a tactician he was extremely lacking.

 

The way we played aye, but still a comfortable league win with high points, Lennon finished on 72 points once I'm sure.

 

Ironically his season that gets held up as his best, the Last 16 season.

 

I do Dev. However in terms of influence on Celtic I just can't see it. I keep repeating this was not his fault in any way shape or form, it wasn't his fault when he came to us. He stood out in a lot of games and scored a great goal v St Johnstone ( Tony Ralston has scored a couple of very good goals as well so far this season.).How many big games did he grab by the scruff of the neck and carry us over the line ? I know he wasn't likely to be the goalscorer like Dembele or Edouard, however Forster had a far bigger influence on big games for me. Did he do it in any big games for us ? I love Italian defenders like Costacurta Nests or now Chiellini, they can win games and maybe VVD has done that for Liverpool. I just don't think he did it at Celtic. I think the games we won we would have won with someone else playing cb and the games we lost with him, he obviously didn't make that much of a difference. His disciplinary record at Celtic wasn't great either, possibly because he thought it was too easy and he lost concentration.

It wasn’t that comfortable. Were Aberdeen not only a handful of points behind us in March/April? They should never, ever bé getting that close.
