Been pish for years but has to be a big upgrade on what we have.

At the very least he’s a talker. He’ll organise the back 4.

Joe Hart, who has been capped 75 times for England, has twice won the English Premier League during 12 years with Manchester City, when he also won the FA Cup and two League Cups. And following a two-year spell with Burnley, the 34-year-old joined Tottenham in 2020.

Speaking of his move to Paradise, Joe Hart said: “This is a great moment for me in my career and I am absolutely delighted to be joining a club of Celtic’s stature.

“I know just how big this club is and of the incredible support that it enjoys, and I can’t wait to play in front of the fans at Celtic Park.

“I’m looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates now and getting to work with the squad and, in particular, the other goalkeepers here.”

I disagree with you here mate.

For the past 20 years, nearly every title with the exception of 2008 has been won by a significant margin. So yes, we've been able to be successful without always having an outstanding goalie.

But when things are closer and you're coming from behind I think fine margins are very important and a good GK can be a match-winner as much as a good striker.

I think Hart is a definite upgrade on what we have but will he make those match-winning saves that Forster made, or which McGregor makes for the Klan? I'm not so sure.

I want him to be successful and for him to turn his career around with us, because that is the romantic in me, but I'm just a bit sceptical.

In particular?? Jeez, he's either going to teach them to improve, or they make him worse.

No doubts he's not the shot stopper he once was but Hart is a leader on the pitch. Set pieces have been our problem and this will help immensely. It's low risk and at least we have another player on the pitch that actually wants to play for us.

Sums up my feelings as well. On the plus side, while out of first team squads more often than not of late, he has still been heavily involved at top clubs and should be geared up to hit the ground running. Slight negative due to his age, but goalkeepers usually can keep performing into their late 30's.

Hope this doesn't go * up. His massive pay cut has certainly won me over, just the small matter of seeing whether or not he has it in him. Good luck to him. The bar has already been set and it shouldn't be too hard for a man of his experience to come in and raise the goalkeeping standards.

As long as he doesn't have ptsd from seeing the man that ended his international career every day he'll be a good signing
