Police Scotland certainly have a different approach when dealing with us compared to that lot. Without going into great detail, George’s Square is just one instance.

Totally. We get the kettle treatment, charged by horses and basically treated like * whereas they get a fecking police escort and have their pictures taken with them.

SMSM need to sell papers though, what’s the point of a protest without a spectacle. There has to be someone in the wrong and canny be the tories ever.

I wonder what wee Fergus is making of all this. I would take the wee man back in a heartbeat to sort this * out. Yes, he was a hard nosed businessman but he was definitely a true Celtic man.

All the absolute dugshite Fergus put himself through, the pelters from the press, some fans and others within the Scottish game. I’m sure he’s probably as heartbroken as the rest of us, this isn’t what he envisioned our club would be once he sold up. It’s an insult to his legacy.

So it is. He, much more than all the rest of us, deserves better.

How many more times are we going to get mugged off by this set of clowns? It's sad that whenever I think of celtic at the moment my main thought is anger and frustration and not the love of the club I've followed all my life

We booed Fergus after stopping the 10 mate. Cos he wouldn’t spend and had a five year plan to get us back on our feet and leave with a profit. Our fans would slaughter him worse than we did back then.

I’d want another Brian Quinn. But we booed him as well to be fair.

We’ll hate anycunt in charge, Lawwell overstayed but even when he was actually doing a job we didn’t acknowledge that either. Hindsight is when we appreciate.

how much of that £107.6m was spent on * players that the club gambled on being the next van *, wanyama or moussa dembele ???

thats the issue for me far too much money being spent on dross!!! we are so WASTEFULL its unreal, its like the signings are being chosen by non football people for the manager instead of the manager picking the players he wants

when we sell tierney for £25m why didnt we go out and buy the best or one of the best young 18 year old full backs in the world and develop him ??? or allow the manager to chose who he wants to replace tierney with ? i mean this isnt rocket science its arrogance by the board room

who the * is signing the players for rodgers at the end up and neil lennon last season cause it wasnt the managers and thats a big problem because some non football person buying players for a team thats ran by the manager and you find out the player doesnt fit the team, thats happened a lot

it looks to me like the board room have been signing who they think is best for the team and thats why were in the * state were in

Yeh, I remember well that day when we unfurled the flag. I certainly never joined in the booing as Fergus was instrumental in saving our club from going out of existence as the banks were not going to bankroll us in the same way they did with the huns. Yes he did leave us with a profit but, he stopped us going under so, I will always be grateful to him. It's worthwhile pointing out that we were a club founded on charitable grounds and the vast majority of our fans continue to believe in the original ethos of the club. Unfortunately, football is now a money making entertainment business with all capitalistic trappings attached to it which sickens us all and our present board is a perfect example of that - a bunch of charlatans whose first love is money and everything else can fall behind - including the team on the park. Hopefully we can get someone who can come along and take control of our club and rid our club of the disease that is our present board and get us back on track.

Its been so long since we had to dig deep to get our noses in front , we need to show the hunger to do this thats wot drives every cauz ,we have a manager who has this we need the the deal breakers to get their act together faster, we 100% need a good keeper lb rb and quality striker last month thats how serious it is , we can see this everyone can , if we are not getting goals easy the pressure moves onto defense and they are too young to take that ,it could break them before the get a chance to bed in , goals will take the heat off and a keeper who will be vocal and dominate his area .

Fergus took it tight at the time, from my memory, and wasn't overly appreciated at the time.

But he done the hard stuff for the right reason, to put the club on a forward trajectory and make the club a success.

The current board and the last (and new) CEO seem intent on being hard businessmen, but forgetting it is a football club they run.

For a football business to be a success, you need the football team to do well. It makes zero sense the way we operate in that context.

Didn’t Fergus right hand man slate desmond during the season and the moustache man had a response out within 24 hours despite being someone who’s meant to be distant from the media

Just as we bring up Desmond, reminds me of the point that always annoys me, after Fergus time.

Desmond comes in and suddenly we hire PL as CEO, a guy who spent the two years prior to 1994 as our financial director - prior to Fergus, who I can only assume got shot of the guy the first time around (in some capacity).

Yet we all wonder how it ended up the way it is, that the financial director during the last couple years of the old board skimming money from the club, ended up paying himself one of the biggest wages in UK football.
    Nothing fishy there at all...

Saw the lawell link to the old board but never knew the detail, always thought lawell was a Tom Allison man from Clydeport, also heard lawell was bang average at his job there too. Lawells chums on the board as part of the remuneration committee, great corporate governance. The boards setup is archaic at best

It is defo "before" my time, so I won't claim to know for sure.

But from what I can see, he was the financial director at the time of that old board.
Quick search again, I may have got the years wrong, it was 1990-91 - either way, he was involved previous.

    Also to be noted:

    upload_2021-7-31_14-45-19.png

I know we all know he is still there, but seeing it at times still gives the fear.
