I get where you're coming from mate. It's just that, it's a bit like going to see Space Jam and coming out of it criticising Porky Pig's jump shot. Neither Porky nor Caldwell were ever going to come out of that situation looking like champions. :giggle1:

I don't think Soro is good enough to be a starter for us yet.

Seems to becoming more controversial nowadays.

    Felt it for months.

Not seen anything from him genuinely. He's not going to win you titles in that midfield.

I thought he looked raw but would come good. Now I just think he's erratic. Never a replacement for brown although it was big boots to fill of course

Hate to say it pal but 2 champions league qualifications (which they’ll get) will wipe any debt

Stop signing 'silky', aka 'sulky', French players... We don't need that extra 10% skill, we need an extra 50% heart and effort... Between Dembele, Edouard and Ntcham we've had about £100M worth of talent - 1 of which forced their way out midseason and 2 more of which are essentially on strike and will leave for a pittance, or worse for free...

We are now the subject of “the banter years”. From board to pitch. And it will last a while unfortunately. In fact, it began last year. You could argue it goes as far back as appointing a “manager” in the shower! I mean what right minded professional club does that!?

Been thinking similar. Have we classed the gap to the huns. No. Is the gap closing between us and teams in 3 and 4th. Probably more to say yes than no.

Long way to go in this window, but our risk aversed tightness of recent years gives me no confidence that'll change anytime soon.

With our defence and the 2v2 at the back Ange seems to love, we'll concede a * load of goals. Just hope we score more.

The biggest negative factor has been removed, Lennon, you see the impact that's had already, McGregor looks night and day from where he was last season and we're not even close to fully up and running yet, I expect others to up their game gradually with better fitness and actual tactics drilled into them. We definitely need more players in but once we get properly settled into playing the system I don't see why not. Absolutely everything fell into place for the huns last season with covid affecting other teams, bookings/penalties, and no fans and us letting them play with no pressure. Even last night with a backline of youngsters and taylor/ralston there was already a shape and level of organisation that wasn't there last season, it's not going to be easy but it's far too early to write anything off.

treble's on, * the doom mongers.

Not writing anything off at all, but let's be realistic here. The squad is poorer than last season. Our 3 strikers, 1 doesn't want to be here, 1 is an unfit sleaze bag, and the jury is well and truly out on the other. Defensively we are a joke. Yes there may be a better system and tactics in place, but ultimately we have 2 FB whose level is mid to bottom SPFL and a very young inexperienced CB pairing Starfelt will need time. Keeper is a must now too. Still need a CM as well. This won't be solved in the short term. It's not pessimistic, it's a sensible view married to the tight unambitious board the controls us.

I have faith Ange can do something here, but he's not even allowed to choose his own backroom staff.

The Board have done an admirable job of late; since February (Lennon's resignation), the share price has risen quite nicely.

Too many people look back to the bad times in the 90s as an excuse to sugar coat bad performances these days, like it was worse then so nothing to get worked up about now.
