Don't get me wrong, they're not a great side but there's a few things to consider.

    • They were away from home and absolutely delighted with the draw. They played to not-lose knowing they'd be much stronger at home. They will step up their game.
    • The 10v11 gap was only about 10 minutes or so, so it's not like we were at a huge disadvantage for any significant part of the game.
    • Murray will now have to play 90 minutes. I thought his performance was good when he came on last time but it's a full game now, away from home and even in the first game he did start to flag a bit with a few errors and looked a bit tired. I rate the kid and if that was our only disadvantage then maybe he'd be fine, but look at the other issues we have and it's pretty daunting.
    • Despite us playing well and them only having two shots, it finished 1-1. We can't realistically play much better and they can't be much worse, so it doesn't bode well for us.
    • I know they only had two shots, but sometimes that logic is misleading. They only need two shots to get their result. If we scored two goals, they would've pushed for more that two shots.
Like I said, if the defence can play an unbelievably good game and we severely limit them by controlling the midfield then I think we can do it. An early 1-2 hit from our attack would be a huge help - and frankly not an impossibility as you pointed out.

Pessimism about tonight has * all to do with last year. I'll be buzzing at kick off and a good start I'll be over optimistic too.

Exactly, from what I’ve seen he’s a lot better maybe needs work positional lay as he’s mainly a CB but he’s a better option for me easily Ralston offers absolutely f all..

With the defence we have and Barkas in goal they'll pack the 6 yard box at corners fire balls in and just wait for us to * it up.
The only plus is they were * in the first game so we need to dominate the middle of the park and limit their chances.

He can play right back and Ralston is a consistent 3/10, that’s why :67:

Forrest could play in goals and Barkas is *. It doesn't mean we should bin Forrest if he doesn't do well there. Actually now I'm thinking about it Forrest should start in goals tonight, I'd probably feel more confident.

Uroghide was signed as a centre back who is comfortable at right back as far as I’m aware. O’Connor is clearly not fancied, Ralston is horrific. I don’t see why we don’t play Osaze.

He was signed as a CB. If he can fill in anywhere else at a pinch, like Ajer did at RB, that's a bonus, but to talk about ditching someone based on a position that isn't their own is silly, although I am assuming it was meant in jest, hence me going to extremes with the Forrest example.

Speaking of Forrest, I’d stick him in at RB if he’s ready to go.

As with all games the rationality & pessimism has abandoned me and I'm full of the optimism.

They are there for the beating if we can screw the nut at the back and Barkas is kept on the bench.

    Mon now...
