Aye hopefully he cracks on, think its just the fact he will be performing well for a move and not for the club. But it will benefit us I suppose

I would be delighted to keep him if he commits his future to us. Even at this early stage of the season he’s shown what he’s capable of once again. A lot of the animosity towards him (from myself included) was down to his incessant shooting from range. Maybe they were instructions from Lennon and Ange can really get the best out of him.

The night we beat Leipzig he was * amazing.

IF and its a big IF he stays and signs a new deal then it really does point to problems with the players and lennon. But like others he his playing for his next move.

    Hated him last season..

If he can screw the nut and play that selfless team role again like his last 2 game's, we could do with it..

I'd be astonished if he signed a new long term deal though..

Think getting frozen out at Euros has maybe changed his attitude. Less of the billy big balls and time to knuckle down and prove he is a player..

To be fair, most fans on here’s biggest criticism of Christie last season was his constant wayward shots. Playing for a coach who actually has a style and game plan rather than Lennon just telling him to shoot on sight can only help him.

Especially given the number of players we’ve lost/are losing and the painfully slow recruitment, if we can get Christie tied down to a new deal then it would be great business. Worst case, he’s sold next summer for more than we’d get just now.

The club can offer him a HIGH END WAGE contract, a long one.
Or spend upwards of £5M and same wages, to replace him.
I am sure our new manager is talking to Christies agent/reps.
I think he will sign a new deal, he REALLY looks up for it.
Ajar COULD have played 1st leg, so he OBVIOUSLY refused to play...
Eddie and Christie are allowing themselves to play, and could get bad injury....

or Ajer done enough last season to earn a move whereas the other two are reaping the rewards of their poor showing and making a last ditch attempt to play themselves into a move to the epl.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next month but I am still of the opinion that both Christie and Edouard will be sold before the end of this transfer window assuming they both still want to leave rather then sign new contracts and be key planks in the rebuild. They are both good players who if they were genuinely committed to this rebuild and Celtic and signed new contracts then I would say great. But if that scenario developed I would be very surprised.

As good as Christie was last week, he was absent from the game this week.

Just don't know what to make of him. Think I'm back on the good riddance bandwagon for now if he's just not going to turn up for the game, even when on the pitch.

Started well but disappeared just when we needed someone to grab game by the neck. Are we shoehorning him again this season by playing him on the wing? Is he not a decent box to box midfielder?

I wouldnt say eddy played. He jogged around keeping himself warm without breaking into one full sprint. I seen the other team breaking by him, he jogged on behind them. Guys a full walloper who needs to go. However we've still not replaced dembele and were getting rid of another one? Were *.

He is free to talk to offshore clubs and sign a pre-contract. I suspect he will run down his contract with Celtic to get a better payday in January.
