The 2021/22 season starts in 6 days...and the defence we have is atrocious. Would have laughed in your face if back in May you said our starting defenders would be Ralston, Bitton and Taylor. Yet here we are. The mismanagement and ineptitude is still in full swing.
Disgraceful. Didn't think i could be as angry as last season yet I am. Scandalous state of affairs for a club of our stature.

 

6 days to go the qualifier in 2 and no defence, Starfelt will be out of Quarantine on Thursday so will be tight if he starts and koyogo is due out Wednesday so again be tight for him.

if Starfelt can get a training session in then I expect him and Koyogo to start VS Hearts but we need a a decent RB in this week if not I’d go with a back 5 and have Forest/ Abada and McGregor as the two wingbacks

I hit the wrong key in response and lost it. Will try again.
Ralston is playing in the wrong position in my opinion and RB needs a ball playing defender to dominate that flank effectively going up and down, and holding his defensive position when needed. He is no Blint.

The point I was making was that a team can still dominate a game all over the park without having to attack for the whole 90 minutes. An early goal or two can be enough to win a game. The conditions and situation will determine your game plan. Keep it tight and compact on the park and support the defense by not allowing the opposition to launch a swift counter - attack because you have most of your players up the other end trying to have the team score more goals. I am thinking about the game on Wednesday. Especially at present where Ange has to deal with the players he has at his disposal and with a vulnerable back line that copped a caning on Saturday. We all want Celtic to win this game and progress to the next round. Hopefully by then we will have some new players in the squad and also be better prepared for the Hearts game.

 

Ralston is definitely playing in the wrong position M8 - his best position is anywhere else as long as it's nowhere near the team

 

if big ange bhoy hasn't an idea that a keeper and full backs are priorities then he is the same as all the rest or no balls to take on the board.

failure to cement the keeper and back line will cost us any attempt to challenge in the league.

this is a massive season in terms of the rewards etc...

we need to hit the ground running in the league - we need depth - we have so many soft players we get bullied in the league and lack a dominant striker who can hustle and be a physical threat.

I'll tell you now, the club will see record levels of revenue higher of that they saw with Rodgers. After losing 10iar celtic fans will not waste any chance they get to splurge om the club and make sure the whole of Scotland * has to listen.

But despite the new ceo the club still seem more happy spending no more than what feels like a nett of £5 mill in hope to earn £20mill, rather than spend a nett total of £10 mill and earn £30 mill minimum from CL qualifications
