Being adaptable / pragmatic is a double edged sword. By being adaptable it means you are conceeding that your methods and your way of football does not work. Sure this will be challenging against teams who have quality and squad depth, but my question to you outside of money and finances why can't that be Celtic. When you are "pragmatic and adaptable" it means you are adapting to the way someone else plays their football, they are not adapting to you.

I am sure Ange is able to adapt tactically but essentially the way he plays his football will not change, you can be sure of that, and why would he change. He has to stay true to himself and his beliefs.

In regards to the Asian Champions Leagues his teams were always competitive and entertaining to watch. My team actually won the Asian Champions League (Western Sydney Wanderers). To this day I still dont know how we did it, playing a dour, defensive and at times very ugly football. It will be the first and only time an Australian club wins it until we deregulate our football and have a proper pyramid structure, getting rid of salary caps and the like, but that story is for another day.

Glad your patient mate as the majority of our support aint. Honeymoon period is over when the league starts. A few bad results and things change awful quickly at Parkhead I’m sure youve witnessed that following the club. Yes I want Ange to be a success I’ve been impressed with him unfortunately this Board will be his downfall (hope I’m wrong) but do you believe he will be giving the same chance he was giving at Yokohama ? It took him a full season for him to implement his playing style on the squad I believe they finished 12th in the league. The demands placed on him are far higher here

It's not conceding that it doesn't work it's conceding that a team is better than you and you must adapt to give yourself the best chance again going back to Rodgers as I say we played some great stuff domestically but it didn't carry across in to Europe as we played teams much better than ourselves. Money and finances are literally the 2 reasons it can't be we can't afford to buy the best players not even close to it hence why we look to bring the majority of players in young with sell on potential. I would rather play dour football and win than play open attacking football and lose

If things go south as a result of the board failing to back Ange then it won't just be him under fire.

With stadiums opening back up now, there will be no hiding place for the board this time.

Ange sounded confident that some more signings are imminent but it's farcical to be in Champions League qualifiers with the defence in the current state it is. No excuses will minimise that.

Thats exactly how it will be.They wont splash the cash unless we qualify for CL,its how we operate and is to be expected.

Its a pain in the hole but lets be realistic we cant spend what we dont have(we never will),id love us to open the cheque book but im not to optimistic.Im sure ye know its how we operate and it wont change this season especially with the covid issue.

I think he should be given a season to implement his style of play, assuming of course there is progress throughout and its not a complete disaster. But I honestly wouldn't expect him to win the league in his first season with the rebuild job on his hands. Unfortunately he won't be shown the same patience from alot of our support

Don’t know why Lenny or ange hasn’t put a man on post at corners and free kicks. Help goalkeeper and defence out.
I knew that free kick was going in once they won free

People renewed but begrudgingly, if they act the * again this season there will riots and protests long before renewals next season.

You can't bring a guy in and fame his ability to rebuild and then not give him the tools to do it.

He's been hung out to dry for these qualifiers though.

It's maddening how we don't speculate.

    This year more than any.

If we had invested heavily in to this squad, 40million say - we would near guarantee have got through to the UCL group stages and recouped that.
At worst, Europa and recouped a third of it (at worst).
With the speculation that dropping 40million on a spfl squad would wipe the floor domestically and guess what...literally guarantee UCL next season where the money would be recouped.

Not only that, but the fans backing of that would go through the roof, they surely know this as well?

At worst, we would be in a smidge of debt for a few months.

But trust this club never to do the right thing.
Guess what, we are paying peanuts (comparably) for Ange...

    Disagree here.

I find the notion that an absolute adherence to a certain way of doing anything is the ‘right way’ to be bizarre.

Even looking at aspects of life outside sport, it’s widely believed that flexibility of thought is a good thing. Football is a bizarre exception where the idea of religiously sticking to one approach is currently seen as ‘forward thinking’. It’s weird, imo, and almost quite dogmatic.

There are a handful of clubs in the world who have the resources to approach the game in a manner that allows them to build a squad capable of dominating all others while adhering to one, specific style. For pretty much every other club, flexibility will give you a much better result.

I won’t judge Ange on it u too I see what he does here, but I hope he doesn’t stick to his philosophy stubbornly, because if we do well enough we’ll play teams that will tear us to pieces for doing so.

You can disagree all you want. I am just giving you an advance warning of how its going to be. He will not waiver and he will be sticking to his principles through thick and thin. Its one of the maddening things about him, but I can at least respect him for it.

That's disappointing to hear. It'll go against him eventually. Especially in Europe.

I don't get it, sorry. Care to elaborate?

We lose 4-7 after losing the previous game 2-5, but he carries on? It's on the cards, by the look of things.
