I hope you are correct mate but unfortunately don’t share your optimism in regards to getting the players he needs can’t see the board having a massive overhaul. Can only see them adding a RB & perhaps another winger to play LW at present as can’t see them adding a LB with Taylor & boli on the books. Starfelt will partner Julien so the young boys will be expected to soldier on just now ,sacrificing CL football again , no more strikers will be added and tonight showed that they are clearly keeping Griffiths around the squad with ajeti The Japanese boy they will see that as enough bodies. Not addressing the problem once again and we are expected to qualify for the champions league well we as fans want that beginning to think those * aren’t to bothered

Ange was asked if he wanted to address the support regarding Griffiths booing - his response:

'I won't be telling the Celtic supporters anything. They've followed this club a lot longer than I've been here. My job is to produce a team they're proud of and we let them down today.

I heard it growing up too. Was always told it came from coal mining.

    In B4 George Theodorou

Ange sent the team out to get humped today to force the boards hand.

    * it George. I agree. The man is a Machiavellian genius.

Beat Midjittllyland, get the players we need and win this * league!

Still in the Angebulance. Mon :ange:

That’s kind of the point though. You think they’re on the touch line yet they are floating about midfield. :fear:

His football will put the fear in you. As an Australian following the national team he did this on more than one occassion. He will not waiver and this is where part of his stubborness shines through. It shines through because his methods have worked for him and he has that belief and this cascades onto the players. What this is about is playing the right way and getting to where you want to be as a club. Do you want to be the club that players want to join, where they play good football, where they win trophies or do you want to be the club that absorbs pressure with 10 men in the box, plays on the counter, takes the ball to the corner post in the last minutes of a game. To play his type of football he will let the players play, it will be brave, risky at times, but it will also be fun to watch and get you out of your seat.
It will not matter one jot if your opposition is Rangers, Ross County or Barcelona.

At this moment you will start to question his methods and whether or not he is the right man for the job. This is exactly the same process that every team he has been to goes through. Its a mental battle that you just have to push through. For goodness sake in his first season at Yokohama he was in a relegation battle. Of course they stayed up but it was scary for a few weeks towards the end of the season.

What he did in Yokohoma is incredible, they are a mid size club with a much smaller budget that some of the other bigger clubs and he took them to the title. Something they haven't done for 15 years. It not only transormed the club but it also transformed the J-league with many teams adopting similar methods of football. At the very least he will give you a club that will be challenging for the league year in year out and teams playing football that you will be reminiscing over for the years to come.

That's a huge red flag for me that is not a positive in the slightest it's all well and good saying going and out and doing it well is totally different and it was Rodgers biggest failing we played some excellent stuff domestically but his stubborness to change saw us take some absolute pumpings from Barca and PSG

That shows no understanding of levels. Do you think this manager is good enough to make primary school kids aged 5, beat an * professional team? Thats the level difference your talking about in European football. Just so you can maybe get a grasp of what your attempting to dream up.

It is 11 v 11 pros on a field. Mentality, team cohesiveness and tactics can bridge the gaps you're talking about.

I've tried to keep quiet about Ange as there are enough Aussies that won't shut up about him, but I agree that he'll scare the * out of you at times and then when it clicks will be entertaining and get some real surprising results.

Ange will genuinely believe that anyone is beatable. He isn't perfect in this respect, there are times some pragmatism might be justified, but evidence would suggest his approach works in the long run.

The evidence has shown what? That it works when on relatively even budgets with relatively even player skill gap? Thats great we should do well in the league then. Maybe decent against some lower European teams. Pep gardiola couldn't make celtic pass around Barcelona or psg. So behave.

League is the priority but what we need to win that is a cohesive team and not a team changing manager every year. The hun players are not great but they are a cohesive unit after being together for 2 or 3 years.

Not an Ange problem but him whinging to the media that signings are taking too long needs raised at board level. If we need players: a competent scouting team should solve scouting through the domestic markets. Him whinging to the media does nothing.

I’ve been impressed so far with the big man. Loving the honest opinions, so much better than the bitterly disappointed * we were fed all year last year.

Do you not think this has been raised to the board?

Or do you really think he’s just come out with what he has said randomly?

He's not 'whinging' to the media. He's answering direct questions with direct answers. A blind dog on its deathbed already knows we haven't got folk in fast enough and it's taking too long, but they're asking him every day so that they can run the same story in their articles. The more this doesn't change the more it justifies their story. The answer is for the board to get in about 2 or 3:new signings so that the answer becomes 'good few in, hopefully more, but we'll wait for the correct players'. Can't blame him for refusing to be the chimp on the matter

No I don’t want think it’s random at all. I actually think it’s targeted at the board. Who knows if there’s a conversation being had. I hope there is.

I just didn’t like him blaming COVID and quarantine for Celtics slow transfer business when there’s a plethora of players in the domestic markets that could come in and would drastically improve the side from day one.

It’s comes down to Ange not being an accountant and the board thinking they can get the same quality 20% cheaper from Europe and ROW. Even with a shedload of money in the bank.

I agree though in a months time this should be a non-story when the market shuts and hopefully we have all our signings in place. The sceptical me says Ralston and/or Taylor will be our fullbacks for the foreseeable.
