Give him the tools to carry out his job and we’ll be just fine this season.

We’re trying to play Tony Ralston as a winger from right back and Greg Taylor as a central midfield creator from left back. One has not a single bit of skill in his body and the other gets applause when he passes it forward it’s that rare of an occurrence.

He said something I only heard Rodgers say after Imps game, “it’s half time in this fixture” dunno why just gave me a good vibe.

His tactics look quite exciting, even in only a few games you can see the gameplan.

    Barkas

    Welsh---------------------------------Bitton
    Soro
    Ralston ---------- Taylor

    Turnbull-------------------------------McGregor

    Adada ------- Christie

    Edouard
He wants his team playing out from the back like that, goalkeper to wide centre-back and then to full-back who is in centre-midfield with centre-mid going out wide. So like Barkas > Bitton > Taylor > Christie and at that point McGregor is going down the wing. We were just getting into it really well when Bitton got sent off. Soro is like an outball, if we are stuck or need to recycle it and start again we give it to him who gives it to the keeper or he'll turn and carry it forward if it's on.

We mostly played through Taylor because Ralston is a clumsy * incapable but I noticed in earlier games Urhoghide when he played right-back did it as well.

When we attack and have possession in the oppositions half also also he likes either the full-back to cut inside to the box and the centre-mids to overlap them on the outside like this kind of thing

    Soro

    Ralston Taylor
    Turnbull---------------- McGregor
    Abada Edouard Christie
Or the full-backs to get to the byline and the wide players to go along the edge of the box.

Time will tell if it will work and if it does work how long it will last until other teams notice it and plan to deal with it but it's promising that we can already see a style of play and quite a rehearsed and well mapped out one in full swing this early.

Encouraging tonight. There's still the issue of the squad though. They're not going to let him just drop that £5m goalie overnight, he'll be expected to develop him. Still think we're * for these qualifiers but with a few decent signings the season might not be a total embarassment.

We actually looked like a team with a shape and system.

Can't remember the last time I thought that. Well done Ange.

    Wit a guy man.

From a manager who never took any responsibility for anything and flung everycunt under the bus. To a guy who literally has nothing to do with the shambles we’re in but he’s taking responsibility.

Players must * love him man.

If even Christie looks on board you can bet the rest of the players are buzzing under Ange.

I'm predicting a significant improvement next week.

Ange Postecoglou refused to point the finger at Celtic ’s Euro fall guys as the boss insisted HE is to blame for the Hoops going in cold against Midtyjylland.

The Parkhead side were held 1-1 in the Champions League qualifier after Nir Bitton saw red for a moment of madness and keeper Vasilis Barkas looked suspect for the Danes leveller following new Bhoy Liel Abada’s opener.

There were plenty of positives for Postecoglou in an encouraging performance as a Celtic side in transition were unfortunate not to be heading to Denmark on the back of a win.

Postecoglou is only starting the rebuilding mission at Parkhead and has ben frustrated in his attempts to ramp up the recruitment drive but he insisted he will carry the can for any early setbacks. But he insisted his Celts will NEVER be as undercooked as they were on Tuesday.

He said: “I can’t ask any more of the players. Sometimes the result belies the facts before you.

We will be better prepared no doubt, in eight days’ time

In fact I don’t think we will ever be as badly prepared as we were tonight and that’s on me, going into such an important game. We have eight more days I feel confident that the preparation and the spirt we have, we will put in a good performance.

It is on me. I’m the manager of the football club. I’m the one that takes that responsibility of providing support for the players and staff. If things aren’t happening it’s on me to make them happen.”

Postecoglou admitted 24 hours earlier the club had hesitated in the transfer market but last night he insisted he’s take the flak for the delay in landing new recruits.

He said: “I don’t think I’m at a disadvantage, my role is to try and support these players and try to prepare them the best I can for what is in front of us.

“I haven’t done a great job so far to be honest, because with the disruptions we’ve had, we haven’t been able to bring the players in. My role is to try and reinforce this squad and to try to prepare this squad for what is ahead, and to their credit, the players didn’t look for excuses tonight

“They put in a solid shift, and I’m just disappointed they didn’t get the rewards for what I thought was an outstanding performance.”

Postecoglou refused to hammer Bitton despite the defender giving Celts an uphill task when he picked up a second yellow card for lashing out at Andres Dreyer for diving. Abada had fired the Hoops ahead and they had Midtjylland on the ropes.

But the boss said: “I was frustrated at the result, not the performance, but Nir had already been booked and when you’ve been booked you have to be careful in your actions

When you infringe again, you give the opportunity to the referee to give you another caution. “It’s disappointing for him more than anything, because he was really keen to put in a strong performance.

“He had started the game really well for us, so it’s disappointing for him that he misses the second game as well.” Ex-St Mirren man Dreyer was eventually sent off for another dive in the second half – before Celts conceded from a set piece and Midtjylland’s first shot on target.

Keeper Barkas looked suspect at Evander’s whipped effort from a tight angle but the Aussie gaffer refused to slaughter the under fire no.1 who was criticised last term.

Postecoglou said: “I’m getting a lot of glass half empty questions at the moment. I think there was plenty of positives tonight rather than people looking for little things that potentially didn’t go right.

“I thought it was a decent strike, we limited them to a couple of shots on goal with a really brand new back four. The midfield worked their socks off. The amount of running that Ismaila Soro and Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie did was unbelievable.

“There’s nothing I’m disappointed in tonight. I’m frustrated at the result because the players didn’t get the result I thought they deserved.” “I guess it was an opportunity missed on the weight of the performance.

I thought we created more chances and limited them to a couple of shots on goal. “We played some decent football and played a large part of the game with 10 men and two very young centre halves.

“There was frustration with the result but not the performance and put in a tremendous shift.”

Clever enough to know the fans will appreciate it but won't hold it against him.

    I'm loving Ange so far.

Typical Ange, protect his players no matter what (see the greeting between Ange and Awer Mabil a few seconds before kick-off)?

What a * breath of fresh air.

I'm not in full agreement with everything he says, but I see why he says some of it.
    I get it.

Mostly though, that is refreshing. Takes responsibility, gives praise, questions back to the journalists (even the fans) with the glass half empty stuff, brilliant.

Love that. If he said he was disappointed people would’ve tried to twist it to him blaming the players.

The set up and tactics where great last night, with the very limited options he had at his disposal.

I said when Bitton got the first yellow he should come off, that came back to bite us in the *. Bitton has to be shown the door, he has cause two major * ups in the last 6 months and hasn’t learnt the bell end.

Barkas is never a keeper, he is utter * and time and time again he * it. We have had our pants pulled down by AEK regarding him and whoever scouted him needs a kick in a baws.

Needs punted he is never a keeper.

Get Ange the players he needs and we would have won last nights game with ease.
