    Celtic have agreed a £4.5 million deal for Swedish international Carl Starfelt - but are now waiting to see when they can get him into the country.

    A deal has been thrashed out with Rubin Kazan for the defender - who is seen as a direct replacement for Brentford-bound Kristoffer Ajer.


    Starfelt agreed a long-term deal with Celtic and passed his medical in Moscow last week.

    The 26-year-old is now waiting for his work visa and to see when he can travel to the United Kingdom, due to the current coronavirus restrictions.

    Boss Ange Postecoglou admitted at the weekend that red tape to get deals done has been a major source of frustration with Celtic due to kick off their Champions League campaign against Midtjylland tomorrow night.

    Pretty sure it has been. Just waiting for his papers but will have a quarantine period also.

    Doubt he'll be available for the 2nd Midges leg.

    He's not been stood there in his kit with a scarf above his head at CP but that's for obvious reasons.

    I'd be comfortable with Notorious's advice.

    I think that only really related to teams and pre-arranged sporting bubbles, not individuals.

    Unless we are getting this guy a private jet he is basically getting on a plane the same as anyone else.

    Nah, it’s nothing to do with standing at Parkhead with a scarf.

    As @JC Anton says, there’s been nothing official. We’re going off journalists and whispers from his current club and taking it as gospel. Which it sounds like it is but alas ‘nothing official’.

    According to this if you are coming from Israel you don't have to quarantine: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/israel/entry-requirements

    Couple of caveats to it but none that would affect Abda. So he didn't needed to quarantine.

    Guessing we won't announce him until his quarantine is done.

    Is it 10 days or 7? Think he was training last Saturday so if it's 7 days and he's been quarantining since yesterday or Sunday we could use him as a wildcard.
