To be fair on paper last summer looked good. A Swiss International who tore up the Swiss league, ROI captain, Greek national keeper with CL experience, Uruguay International,Moi came back and David Turnbull.

You don't see the initial difference in Ajeti from last season to this pre-season?

At first glance, a window where we have signed absolutely no one of worth (at first glance) apart from a 26 year old Japanese player, you think this is already better than a window where we signed a Swiss international, Greek international, ireish international, hottest talent in Scotland, a Norwegian international worth millions and s dynamic midgeidler who had played over 100 games?

Last season was a complete disaster but I think you're being extremely harsh in some of those players who had little to nothing to do with the disaster itself.
Be it Turnbull and soro the only two shining lights, or barkas and Ajeti who clearly suffered from Lennon's absolute shambles of management.
Ely for that matter showed in stages his quality, yet if we consider how much Lennon was at fault for a lot of things within the squad, then it's surely forgiveable for some of these guys supposed short comings till we see them in a team with a competent manager?

The Japanese boy certainly looks a talent and I tend to find/assume attacking players from Japan are more exciting and likely to carry that ability and skill when they travel. As opposed to defenders who may struggle against the tougher opponent's they aren't used to.
If we get starfelt done as well, even better.

It's turning the heat up for sure and perhaps there is some good reason for these things getting announced finally on a Friday, even when they aren't 100% through the door.
I'll take that as a good sign that the club are trying to get the good news out there asap and maybe realise that time is dragging on and waiting another weekend without telling anything would be damaging.

Exciting times for Ange getting some players in that he will surely see the benefit in.

I think soro started well but was dropped and I don't think he'll be in our starting 11 when we get going, that will be McGregor and Shaw.

As for Ajeti I think we should be looking for another top quality striker, if not two. He looks fitter but so was Klimala who also scored a couple in pre season last year.

Think you're (I hope you're) wrong on soro being behind Shaw and Ajeti could easily step up I think.
Defo agree we need another key striker though. No doubt.

Think it really should be a clean slate for these guys though.
Ones who got the short end and * around by Lennon.

Which looks like Ange is willing to do.
If not a little too willing if we end up keeping some players who clearly don't deserve to be here any longer (Christie, Ntcham, boli etc)

I agree, we need players with versatility as well. I want to see D.Origi signed from Liverpool. Big, strong, great skill, scores goals. Still young, not getting game time with his club, on the last year of his contract. In the Euro Belgium squad. Would get regular game time with Celtic and give value for money as well as raise his profile. Celtic need a player like him. Buy him Ange please.

 

Ajeti looked like a talent from the get-go, he never seemed to get his chance last season. I'm not sure I fully buy the line that Ajeti, Klimala, and Griffiths were permanently unfit for the better part of a year, there was something odd going on with Lennon's squad selection all year.

 

Would love to see Origi at Celtic and we haven't heard any rumours about him... which means it's a chance of happening.

 

With the 2 wingers/forwards in, I'm actually confident we will get full backs in. I think we have waited to get what the manager wants.
