I never saw the full game but what I seen we were decent out of possession getting bodies forward and pressing quickly, however we were pretty sloppy with the ball at times injuries to the wingers wouldn’t have helped this but we didn’t look particularly threatening.

Ajeti has looked a lot sharper but if he is to lead the line for us and Forrest, Dembele and the new signing are to compete for the left we need a left winger who is going to make a 16/17 Scott Sinclair type impact in terms of goals. We also definitely need another option or two for the Centre Forward position when Eddy goes.

As others have said full backs who can actually contribute to attacking play are a must as well.

An enjoyable nil draw. Sorry to see so many injuries.

They are mate. Absolutely no threat going forward. Happy to sit back, defend, kick * out of our players.

If I squinted a wee bit we could've been playing Hamilton Accies.

It's our 3rd game under a new manager who's overseeing the most pivotal rebuild in recent memory.

I'm not going nuts about it but I don't think it's out of line to analyse the performance and look for improvement.

If you think he's going to turn around that utter shitfest from last season with no support what so ever from the board so far in 3 preseason games you have another thing coming..

Didn't watch it but having skimmed the thread there seems to be some small positives, even with it being a friendly.

It's a pre-season game. Can never read much into them.

    Ange hates Australians.

It's the reason he quit the NT...

I know that the personnel isn't up to scratch but I was looking at the team tactically and I didn't see a whole lot of difference from last season. After all, we've been told for weeks that Ange was gonna come in and tear up the rule book, and impose a new high intensity all out attack playing philosophy on the team.

"You'll concede some stupid goals, but Ange doesn't care. He just wants to outscore the other team." That was a common theme from people who claimed to know all about Ange's playing style. I haven't seen much to suggest we've been moving in that direction. In fact we've scored less goals in each game we've played so far.

That match was typical of the type that done us in last season. Packed defence, physical side, willing to just let us keep hold of the ball and play for the 0-0, maybe try and hit us on the counter. And similar to last season we didn't have any answer to that.

Again, I know it's early doors and there's still lots of work to be done, but I didn't think there were many signs that we were going to be playing the free-flowing exciting football that we've heard so much about anytime soon.

Maybe we'll start to see some on Saturday when we're back up the road. But playing against shitehouse anti-football sides on * pitches is something we're gonna have to do frequently each season, so I hope we come up with a better way of dealing with it.

Total pish, you can clearly see what we're now trying to do, the tempo is faster, the rb and lb come inside and allow width for the two wide players, were pressing on transition for at least 20 seconds after loss of possession. Passing is more direct and between the lines. Its been 3 friendly games ffs, thats a vast improvement in 180mins thst we seen in the football last season.

The passing and movement of players is on a different level from last season already. The full backs asked to do so much more and will be very valuable if we get better ones..

Today was the first game we didn't score two or more.. again we need better players when Eddy * off.

Definitely see what he is trying but he needs better personal something I won't blame him for

Direct passing, send the ball out wide, work it into the box. That's not much different from last season, with similar results. Maybe the tempo will be higher once the players are fit but for me there was far too much dilly-dallying on the ball and getting caught in possession, again same as last season.

Honestly man, generic fitba phrases annoy me more than someone taking a * in my garden.

I hate pre season as you hear phrases such as “minutes in the legs” every single minute.
