We really should have been doing that in the 1st place. Put ourselves in such a rotten position that we've gifted him a golden opportunity with a contract out of our own desperation.
The whole recruitment has been stunningly underwhelming. I expected us to have a fair few bodies in by now.

Doubt his contract will be torn up, would be a legal minefield I imagine.

We may see him bombed out of the first team though, and likely some league 1 club down south randomly signs him on a free contract.

This isn’t ‘cleared’ as in he’s not done anything wrong.

It’s ‘cleared’ as in they know they won’t get a conviction because he knew what he was doing by only sending emojis.

He’s a * nonce and if the club keep him they deserve * everything they get.

We could just as easily pay him off if we can't terminate, there is zero excuse to keep him at the club

100%, however for this reason I believe they will keep him. We know the board put money before morals.

I’ve been involved with various tribunals through things like sexual harassment, bullying, folk being * and making a serious * of themselves....lots more.

Everyone of them has ended with a payoff and the contract terminated before even reaching the court (much to my disappointment).

There is defo grounds for raising proceedings against him but they won't is my humble opinion.

The only hope is Ange himself wants him gone, because I believe the board would keep him.

If I was ange, I'd be looking at Griffiths, who I've just handed a new contract to after countless * ups, make a mockery out of himself and the club, he'd gain a lot of goodwill if he stepped in and got rid of him.

Only thing I will say is no matter the outcome, he won't be here past January.

If he stays, he'll do fuckall as usual and I'm certain the club will either pay him off or loan him out to get him off the books.

Not ideal in the slightest, he should be gone tomorrow, but I don't think there's any chance he stays the year.

    Agreed.

I was always of the belief that sometimes it's worth taking a financial hit with these kind of things as long as it sets the expectations for every other person.

Griff is a goal scorer and knows where the goals are when he is on form and in the mood. I was surprised when we gave him another years contract but it made sense as we new what we had when on form , we didn't want to replace yet another player so as cover, at the least if we brought in a decent striker then for me it was a no brainer. When all this came out I said give him the benefit of the doubt, wait until the investigation and the police findings before condemning him. Today he has been cleared of criminal offences and as said before prob told the police he thought she was over 18. At no point does it say he never did or said anything so for me having a partner and kids to be following even an 18 year old is just plain stupid on his part. For that, having just signed a new contract and prob had conditions to toe the line he has let himself and the Club down and his partner to. He has now shown he cannot be trusted and should be let go, he could well be the bad influence around the Academy or even become a * pest around the women's team. For me, even as a supporter of Griff having had to deal with mental issues, he has to go.

What I absolutely don't want is for him to be kept on but frozen out.

If he is to be punished he must be let go, or at the very least sent out on losn if anyone wants to take him.

If they cannot rip up his contract, then lets at least put him out on loan.

If messaging girls while married with kids and he thinks there’s nowt wrong in that then his morals are as low as a snakes belly
I’m sure there’s lots of caveats in his contract, one would be behaving in a certain manner and upholding club values
Trying to get dirty pics from any lassie while married breaches those caveats

Not relevant then, as I was specifically referring to Griffiths.

You were specifically referring to Griffiths with an incorrect generalisation? Fair enough.

No, I was referring to what he was accused of which was obvious by the context of what was being discussed.

You said "the law doesn't care if A crime was intentional or not." A crime. Not THIS crime. That is not the case. It may even be the case for this type of crime as well, it's not an area of law I am familiar with. I take it you are?
