He was cleared so no warning. Hence I was wondering about more detail.

I have no confidence in the club to sack him. Which says it all.

You have to imagine he's now lost the fanbase though completely (well most of it anyway) so hopefully that will influence things.

Hes a waste of effort at this point.

I wish I shared your opinion, but I think he had to have been charged for us to let him go.

Hopefully we hear shortly that he's been released, genuinely dont think I could stomach him staying.

I think Ange will step in here and remove him.

Assuming Ange does then ultimately they can either sack him and potentially pay compensation, or have him waste away in the reserves and have to pay wages.

Keeping Griffiths seems to be the opposite message of unity and focus Ange is trying to put out.

‘Nonce’ and ‘beast’ shouts await at every ground in Scotland for the rest of his days.

And if that’s while he’s wearing hoops, I’ll get it tight not to join in tbh.

    A scourge on this club

    That's my question too.

If he's hasn't done anything then that's a completely different story. Not expecting that as the answer but we should be open to it.

Doesn’t matter. The club should already be doing/have done their own investigation and if the messages are legit he still has to go. Just because no criminal offence has taken place doesn’t mean he isn’t in breach of contract/employment law.

Either sack him or pay him off. Simple.

Cleared means he isn't being charged but that doesn't stop the cops giving you a telling off.

I don't know if such clauses exist but I have seen others speculate about them.

But if there are such clauses in his contract, I don't know why it would only be at this point we'd chose to exercise them.

He's been deleting his social media on and off for a while now - because of posts he's liked or arguments he's gotten in to.

So he's been an * for some time.

He shouldn't have gotten a new contract because of his lack of professional for over 3 years now... but he still got one.

The club appear to be desperate. That's why he got an extension in my view. For that reason I can see them hoping it all dies down and allowing him to stay now that the peelers have found no criminal act.

It's not what I want to happen but what I think is quite likely.

Gross misconduct takes many forms in employment law, usually based on the rules of precedent.

Contracts are pretty much open on the term of gross misconduct but the club could easily get rid despite no criminality established.

I understand that but I think the point I’m making it that if he hasn’t done anything criminal then he hasn’t done anything wrong per se.

Is messaging someone a sackable offence. You could say it’s brought the club in to disrepute but if he genuinely didn’t think he was doing anything wrong then what really can they do? Again not trying to defend him. I’m curious myself as to how they could terminate his contract.

Hmmm. There's plenty of things that are not criminal that others would find morally wrong. We could sit here and run off a very long list between us.

Some businesses sack employees for going out, getting wasted and doing stupid * because it drags the company name into the mud.

Some contracts have these moral clauses in them. I remember Adrian Mutu's had something in it where he actually ended up owing Chelsea like 24m for his transfer fee because he broke his clause.

Legally he might not have done anything wrong but that doesn't mean keeping him on wouldn't tarnish the clubs reputation. If he had written what he implied with that message, I have a feeling the outcome would have been different. They obviously knew a good lawyer would be able to get him off on that basis.

Was never any chance that criminality could or would be established, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he's brought more unwanted attention to the club. Daft boy wanting pictures off birds on the Internet, he's guilty of compulsive stupidity nothing more.

If there wasn't enough self-imposed pressure on him already there certainly is now. Celtic as a club have to draw the line on this * now and let him go.

I genuinely still want him out as do many of us if I'm reading the room correctly. Regardless if the police feel there isn't a case to answer that type of behaviour from a professional is in no way acceptable. When you pull the Celtic strip on and step out on to that pitch you become a role model for many kids. This is in no way acceptable for anyone professional or otherwise to conduct themselves on the Internet.

    Get his contract ripped up.

He would have told them that and probably did think that. Don't think it's fair to call him a nonce. An absolute idiot and a rat on his current Mrs but so are loads of people unfortunately. He could surely be sacked for causing himself to miss a portion of pre season training while also dragging the clubs name through the dirt with him.
