Unfortunately we have all been down this road before and, over the years, that road has led us to a dead end.

 

We do this every season. And every season is the same result.

No bodies through the door with enough time to bed in before the qualifiers.

Leading to players filling in gaps, e.g Bitton in defence.

What started out as a stop gap SIX years ago has now turned into a * massive farce.

 

Sleepwalking into another disaster.

 

Another day another disappointment..

 

It’s as if the board believe the squad we have is good enough for the the champions league and just needed a better manager.

 

Gonna be absolute toxic on here when we go out the qualifiers at whatever point we do. The exact same after ferencvaros and Cluj. Countless topics about how the current board need removed etc even though we can’t actually do that it’s up to them. All true and valid points mind but cba seeing it al again. Unless they do something about players but it’s not looking like we are gonna be very busy before the games start.

 

Being honest I don’t think it’s so much they believe the squad is good enough, it’s more they don’t care if it is or not.

As others have pointed out they do their job by selling players if they don’t get CL football. They would rather just gamble that despite it upping our revenue significantly, they just maintain the profit margin through sales.

The thing I do find odd is that they don’t seem to mind the mess we are in with most of our sellable assets being in the last year of their deals and wanting away. It’s been like this for about a decade now it not longer when it comes to CL qualification.

It’s like that question everyone has been putting about regarding the sales of Elhamed, Frimpong, Klimala, Bayo and youth players having brought in between £15-£18m and we have signed a couple to youth precontracts, where has that gone? The answer is the Board will see that as offsetting our £13-15m spent last year.

It really is sickening looking at how much our squad has regressed recently anyone with an ounce of football knowledge can see we badly need investment in playing personal and to move on those that don’t want to be here, yet we dither about.

 

Well even though it was unlikely it seems there is no chance of maty ryan coming in, reports are he's in Spain and will be presented today.

 

Tbh I think board has probably written Europe off this season

 

They have the season book money in so they're not giving a *.

 

Should get the board out there with a pair of boots and show the fans what they can do, instead of making decisions on the suitability of the current squad. You need to prune a tree to get strong new growth. Out with the dead wood !
