Guys, there's an awful lot of guff poured out about him because he's small. In the day and age of trigger happy refs I'm not sure there's any disadvantage to a fast, small player any more. In fact, so long as we don't expect him to be winning headers against hulking defenders and keepers, there may even be advantages to them not wanting to risk toppling him over - at least in Europe.

Fact is, if he's good enough, he's big enough. And, if he's got the heart and spirit, the knocks won't stop him. Jinky, Lubo, Donnelly, Miller, countless others... Not huge but able to hold their own.

Thats it. A slight touch from a guy 5 stone heavier looks like a really hard and bad challenge when against another big guy is nothing. Its an advantage for fouls.

Exactly troops. The man from Japan got fouled consistently until he started banging in every free kick they gave against him. Then everyone was scared to touch him. Learn your set pieces and give the lad gametime

Aye a stand by that. He's built like the side of a fiver. I'm not hating on the guy, I honestly hope I'm wrong.

I've been the same regarding his upper body strength but during the game against Charlton he held a guy off who was at least a foot taller and made a pass, I was quite surprised by that. He may be a bit stronger than I have given him credit for

Low centre of gravity can make people in the right stance a real * to move. Cant push them with your shoulder when you miss them :56:

You claimed he wouldn't make it in any league, due to height.
Height is clearly not an issue in many leagues.
Even by a Scot, in Fraser, who is doing I'd say fairly well.

I've no idea why you've got this opinion that his height is going to deem him useless in every league, but it's an outdated and poor opinion man.

This cave man thought has come and gone a long time ago mate.

Should we just tell everyone who is under 6 foot sorry too small? Absolutely silly logic.

The club told Andy Robertson he was too small……

You don’t stop growing and fully develop until 21 but you want to rule him out before then? Madness.

Imagine we had said that to Jinky who is smaller than Dembele.

I'm 5,9 and kept a future NT goalkeeper out of a district team. He's about 6.3.

That was a farking long time ago.

And, erm...I got nowhere near the NT.

He's short yes but he looks more stocky than he has before. Its now or never for him, Mickey Johnstone is another who has to make a real impact this season or his Celtic career will fizzle out.

ANGE Postecoglou described Karamoko Dembele as “hugely talented” and predicted the wonderkid is capable of establishing himself a Celtic first team regular in the coming season.

The 18-year-old winger opened the scoring for the Parkhead club in their 2-1 win over Charlton Athletic in a pre-season friendly at Dragon Park in Newport in Wales this afternoon.

Dembele has been tipped for great things since turning out for the Glasgow outfit’s under-20 side aged just 13 back in 2016.

Former Australia coach Postecoglou has been impressed with the youngster since arriving in Scotland last week and is confident he can challenge for a regular start.

“He is obviously a hugely talented boy,” he said. “He has been here for a while and I guess he gets an opportunity now.

“I think the way we play will suit him. He was positive today, not just with the ball, he also worked hard without the ball. Yeah, I thought he did well.

“I never worry too much about age, at either end of the spectrum. It is more about can they do what we want them to do.

He has been in and around the first team squad for a little while now. I think he wants to break through and be a first team player so I see no reason why anybody needs to protect him from that.”

Jaysus, so much talk about his height. What's the issue exactly?

He dominated Hickey against Hearts when he was given the chance. Top class finish against St Johnstone last season.

Like, if people don't think he's not good enough technically, or not consistent enough, then that's certainly up for debate.

But his height hasn't been an issue in the games I've seen.

Not every player in our squad has to be selected based on whether he can compete with Berra.

I think he will rip teams apart at Celtic park especially. Said last year he wouldn't get a chance under Lennon, hardly surprising mind. Seems alot stronger. Ange talking about this protection nonsense too, good to see..if your good enough you should play..

Looking forward to seeing him this season
