In the short term in needs to give Ange what he wants in terms of playing staff. Unfortunately the horse has bolted in terms of coaches.

He also needs to outline what the aims and direction are of the club for the next 2-5 years. The lack of communication is still woefully short on where it needs to be. Cause all were getting is rumour and inaction. He needs to step up here.

i think you are 100% right ,all very safe questions at the fans presser. it was weird i read a lot of the different fan media and about a week or so before that press conference they all seemed in unison to ditch all the anger about last season and all our woes in favour of a more positive outlook.one of them did say that mckay had contacted several of them and maybe he did a wonderful job at winning them over ,taking the soup would be my guess.succulent lamb for dummies

I agree, we definitely should have.

I still understand the rationale at the time in extending Griffiths and Ralston but Griffiths has broken that and should have his contract ripped up hopefully at no expense to us.

It's even worse then that, he wasn't even a coach, but a self-promoting player agent who has no contact with Ange. But as I've said in another thread, Tony Rallis, as a player agent, would be loving that his name is now plastered all over British media, the self-promoting * pretending he has access to Ange.

This is the guy who needs to step up. While I understand a restructure can take time, signing players can be done faster than what is happening now.

If he wants to show fans that the club is going to be “modernised”, then he’s currently failing. If we had a full squad and the manager was just spending for spending’s sake, I’d understand, but we are so far from having a proper squad it’s just plain *.

Got to agree, talk is cheap and the easy way out. Very little action happening following the same path we have done for seasons, slow to sign players, pick and choose when and what they communicate directly to the fans. Mackay like Ange is turning into a yes man to the board that many of us thought. The ultimate sign of that is retaining Kennedy and Strachan

Doesn't take a genius to work out we need a director of football, or someone in that sort of setup/position.

The club done a review of everything in December - February, did we not at least identify the need for change then?

It's being dragged out longer than it needs to be, no doubt.

He talks a good game and I'm so far liking the engagement and content the club are trying to put out now, but with everything else (or lack of) going on, it all feels like it's just about to fall flat again very soon.

I like the fan media stuff, all for it. I'll not judge it as being pre-scripted or anything just yet. But as is being mentioned and the feeling, it can't just become an extension to the official website.

It needs to be that the podcast and blog guys who get this access (totally fine with it being just them and not random idiots like myself off a forum) get to properly hold the club to account and ask the questions we, the fans, want asked. Not just a more buddy/pal friendly response to the same questions.

As for everything else, it's all too slow. Words are cheap, actions speak louder than words. And so far there is no action.
In fact, there is action, the action so far tells us last season's * and the old ways remain.

Jobs for the boys so far.

I'm with you guys; he's been in the job 10 days and no apparent changes (and like everybody else, I too have a desk in the corner of Dom's office, so am well aware of all the changes that haven't happened). Board should sack him pronto then we can waste a few months looking for another CEO.

Let’s be honest. He left his role with Scottish rugby early, that was April. He’s been working for Celtic since. He had three months to plan out the changes he would implement in his first few weeks in the job.

So, you know, we might actually resemble a functional, modern, football club in time for the beginning of the new season.

Spare me the 10 days pish

He wasn’t in charge though, Lawwell was. All he could do in that situation is try and stop Lawwell from doing damage on the way out.

And also, 3 months isn’t long enough to transform a club in a state that we’ve let ourselves get to.

He had three months behind the scenes mate. Got to see the ins and outs, the processes that exist and the structure that’s in place.

Three months to decide on the immediate changes that he would implement once he got in the hot seat.

It’s got * all to do with Lawwell. He cleared out his office a number of weeks early anaw. Wasn’t around the club for the majority of June. McKay was left at it.

Agree totally that a complete restructure of the club requires much more time. But we’ve seen nothing. No desire to change the footballing structure when pressed on it. Now trying to dictate the narrative of fan media as he seen the power they had last year. And his refusal to engage with several fan groups stinks anaw. More will come to light as the weeks go on.

He’s not the white knight so many in our support view him as. The board head hunted him for a reason.

And while I’m having a pop at the bloke.

The PR and club messaging about being overjoyed to have 2,000 fans back at CP was honking.

Should have been an expression of disappointment at the numbers and keeping our foot on the SNP’s throat.

Even Hibs managed to do that. Came out strongly saying how disappointed they were that only 2k could attend the Arsenal game. Aberdeen even went on the offensive yesterday, applied for 8k fans for upcoming games and ‘expect’ to be granted permission for same.

We aren’t privvy to the background changes mate. We simply don’t know.

We’ll just need to wait and see. I’ve said this before but he has my trust until he proves that he doesn’t deserve it. Whether it’s been 9 days or 39 days that’s not long enough for me to judge that.

Agree. It's a disgrace he hasn't been giving PowerPoint presentations at daily press conferences on what he's been up to that morning. * knows he's got nothing else to do.

As for why the Board appointed him; idiots probably thought he might do a good job (it's a novel idea, I'll give them that).

And that’s the most worrying thing, what the board thinks a ‘good job’ is.

Aw these new Aussies don’t have a clue about our club, it’s no ‘the board’ that would have appointed him.

It’d be our de facto owner Dermot Desmond.

    The Board ... DD; semantics.

"Our club"; interesting phrase. A look at the list of shareholders says it all, no?

    No, it’s very different.

Desmond isn’t on the board, he’s the largest shareholder.
