Nobody is blaming him at least I'm not anyway it just annoys me when the Australians come on here and tell us he definitely isn't a yes man and will walk if he doesn't get what he wants well so far he has had backroom forced upon him, not signed a first team ready player and it's debateable as to just how much a say he had in offering Griffiths and Ralston deals.

It's more a frustration for me personally as I was hoping we would see genuine change but it appears to be same old same old and a huge downsizing which Ange is a big part of imo

Where did he say this? I must have missed it.

This was him late June I believe:

"The plan is to have a look around the structure and, once we decide on the right structure, we'll look at the right people to populate that.

"I will look across the whole organisation, the football side, the business side and the engagement side to make sure we have the right structure for the next decade."

He started 1st July as I recall. Doesn't seem like a lot of time to do all of the above. Look forward to your response.

Where is the pre planning why do we always need to be reactive it's just taken us over 100 days to appoint a manager and now we're not sure if we will get a DoF (Who should be in before the manager imo) but we'll see how it goes. That's not how clubs the size of ours should be operating. So far at least as far as we can see all McKay has done is invite a few podcasts to a press conference and as much as it is a positive step it's hardly ground breaking

Yes, that's literally the quote that says there is no restructure at this point, but leaves it open to potentially being one, maybe, in the future.

He’s said the back room team are getting time to prove themselves to him.

    He doesn’t sign the players.

He had several talks with Griffiths about what he wanted from him so I don’t think it’s that debatable. Ralston will be getting used as a body in preseason while business gets done.
We weren’t going to sign two right backs before the start of preseason.

Everyone’s frustrated but I don’t see why people are bringing up issues that have plagued us in the past with being unprepared for the qualifiers under the previous regime as if he can do anything about it.

And what the * does this ‘downsizing’ patter even mean at this point? It’s a word * just fling out now. Last summer was the complete opposite of ‘downsizing’ and look how that turned out. We could cut our wage bill significantly and massively improve the team because of the money we’re wasting.

In fairness he's never going to come out and say there forced upon him.

He may not sign them but at the very least he will have a say hopefully the final say on them.

If that's the case then the Griffiths decision has already been proven to be a bad call on his part then. How does not signing a right back mean that Ralston deserves another year though ? He was third choice and never played over jonjoe Kenny last year but for some reason will be here again this season

Downsizing is going for a cheap yes man manager and signing a fair few youth projects and barely any first team ready players.

I really hope he means it when he says about the backroom team getting a chance to prove themselves and he will be ruthless if needs be. My worry is its just a line being peddled out so that if they are kept on it will be covered.

Its one thing that does frustrate me as I don't think they deserve another shot. I'd be interested as to how many other clubs do this with managers in terms of having backroom staff in place or choosing it for them. We seem to have done it often.

I get he's new to the club and country etc but I did hope he'd just bring his own team with him. From what I've read he's done that before? Tbh I hope he still does.

Irregardless of whether Kennedy and co could get on board with his style, I would love some fresh faces.

He could quite easily have said he’d already had conversations with them and knew they’d be good assets for him.

I said giving Griffiths a new deal was a mistake but Ange can hardly get criticised for Griffiths being a nonce.

I never said Ralston deserved another year. It was obvious to anyone who actually looked at the squad and the scale of the rebuild, with the short turnaround and several senior players on an extended break that option would be taken up on a homegrown players on peanuts for a position we had literally no first team options in. Ralston might be at the club but he’ll be punted on loan or playing with the reserves when we’ve finished our transfer business.

This is where I’m confused. People are moaning about him being a ‘yes man’ who’s just happy to be here and lucky he’s landed the job but yet other people are talking about how frustrated he is in his interviews about the board not getting transfers done quickly enough. Surely if he was a ‘yes man’ he wouldn’t be putting pressure on the board?

And we’ve always signed youth projects and always will. Again, he’s been in the job a couple of weeks.

We don't know that he had JK/GS forced on him (unless you believe that nobody "journalist" trying to make a name for himself). Personally, I would prefer if he had a preferred coach/assistant that he brought with him as most top managers do. If he is giving JK/GS a chance, fair enough, but he obviously knows that the clock is ticking already.

Ralston is a squad player who was obviously extended out of expediency - I doubt Ange had anything to do with that and Ralston will be away next summer if not before.

Ange would have gone with Griffiths based on how he would be as a footballer - clearly a risk but he was prepared to give him a chance. Ange can't be blamed for Griffith's off field behaviour (he probably doesn't know much about him) - I wonder how much (if any) background into Griffith's off field activities Kennedy provided?

From his interview, he has clearly given McKay/the board some players he wants in - the next few weeks will tell us if he is being backed as he should be or if he's been sold a pup. If it's the latter, we'll also see how strong his resolve is.

From my experience of seeing Ange in Aus - if he's been "mislead" and they are trying to use him as a front man for downsizing, it won't last.

Would not be surprised if Ange shakes that tree by bringing in Academy lads at fullback.

It's no surprise people are freaking out already, it's what we're all used to lol.

To me the most important thing is to get behind the new gaffer and show a bit of faith. I know it's the popular thing to want to go out and spend lots of money on players with good reputations, and I think we will.

But at the same time we have good young talent already here, and I want to see them getting a chance to be involved. Am hoping that Ange can get his message across quickly and the squad can adapt to the new style of play, which will negate the need to throw money around and risk losing it on players that might not hit the ground running.

More than happy to be patient at this point and trust the manager. I don't think speculating on whether he's a yes man is helping at all.

Ange from the off said he will make up his own mind, on everyone. It’s a clean slate. He’s actually been fairly consistent with that messaging.
He’s been around long enough to understand the cliques at football clubs. Some players get in the inner circle and others the outer, for various reasons. Mostly personality clashes etc.
And yes, he will walk if he doesn’t get the support that he needs. Why wouldn’t he. If he stuck around knowing he wasn’t getting what he wants, results don’t go his way, we’ll his career is completely * then.
Whereas if he walked stating the club wasn’t supporting him, which everyone here says is a possibility, we’ll it leaves him much less maligned.
Post match Ange dropped a couple of comments re players he’s been looking at and highlighted the urgency now. I also think there was a few comments which was him putting the board on notice.
I’m sorry if us Aussies telling you how Ange operates annoys you. But it is the truth.
He has way too much to lose to be * over by the board. Think about that for a minute.

Thats how i see it too.couldnt turn down celtic as long as its how high do you want me to jump.the simple fact that he hasnt his own backroom staff in place tells you all you need to know. if im a player and ange phones me etc then you turn up at lennoxtown and kennedy and strachan are still there my heart would sink.the minimum ANY new manager should have is his own staff ffs.unless they are coming soon i cant see this going anywhere .HH

The board supported the manager last season - kept all our best players and bought 2 for £5m. Probably thought they were guaranteeing the 10. Proves there's nothing guaranteed when spending big. The 2 most important people at the club have changed - the CEO and the manager. Let's stop complaining at least temporarily for a few months, get behind them and see what they can do.
