Disagree, he was great against the French champions.

Forrest gets it absolutely stinking and I think the claws are always ready to come out when it comes to McGregor and it’s personal abuse like calling him a Hun. I’m hoping people realise what Forrest actually brings to us now that we were missing him for a year and it showed.

Can't really compare Forrest and McGregor.

McGregor gets it both ways. After a goal for Scotland there are wholesale calls to make him captain when a month earlier nobody felt he was captain material.

Regarding O’Neill, the football at the end of his time, in my opinion, was * to watch. Strachan’s team playing it on the deck was a breath of fresh air when he came in.

It’s flavour of the month. When Forrest scores 4 goals in a game and a hat trick for Scotland it’s the same, absolute high praise. Then he passes the ball backwards once and it’s ‘hes always been useless, he’s hiding’

Up until January I’d agree but some of the football we played when Bellamy came in was excellent

    Aye it was Helsingborg.

I remember because their fans were getting a polis escort down Argyle St afterwards, and started pelting us with cans and bottles shouting * the pope was dodgy as * and the polis done fuckall to stop it :giggle1:

Yeah his talents obviously helped. It was effective football, but I do remember sitting at a few games thinking we were poor to watch.

Aye when it was Hartson/Sutton up top, we skipped the midfield. When Bellamy came in him and Petrov came right into it.

I * loved Bellamy. We should have pushed the boat out to keep him.

That said, since it's the controversial opinions thread... Keane was better than Bellamy

I get that but McGregor gets a lot more leeway than Forrest.

I reckon I will take pelters for this but here goes. The Glenn Daly Celtic song should be updated. I've heard it played for over 60 odd years at our homes games as well as being played in my house every time we had a party. I agree it's part of the fabric of our club however, lines such as "grand old team be dad", "darn the hair do we care" and "best darn team in Scotland" really need updated and, to be honest, I don't actually know what they lines mean.

I have this thought occasionally then I think of it being any way other than it is and it gees me the heebie jeebies. Needs updating but I imagine I’d despise the new one for being different :56:

In the past I'd agree he got it bad but not so much now IMO. If he does I don't know why, it certainly shouldn't be because of his nationality.

I've never seen any celtic fan call Mcgregor a Hun, mate, must admit.

He got a bit of itnlast season but literally everyone did. Anyone that can't see what he brings to us doesn't know football.

I actually don't think we'd have won the league if Rodgers stayed on for the 2019-2020 season.

Not for one second saying I wanted him gone, but our team needed a rebuild at the time and Rodgers was horrendous in the transfer market (albeit Lawwell, being the * he is, was a major problem too)

Lennon is a horrendous manager and a * of a man, but signing guys like Jullien, Elyounoussi, Forster, Elhamed and Frimpong really helped rejuvenate the team. I think Edouard stepped up a gear under his first season too.
