Dragging our heals as usual,nothings changed in our transfer policy.

 

Why are we so slow at identifying and concluding deals. Is it an arrogance and hardball over fees etc. Is it incompetence? Are we generally clueless? It's infuriating. Yet the club seem happy to bumble on with the shambolic set up.

 

Hardball over fees primarily, but also, the fact that decisions on transfer targets are made by people without a footballing background.

 

Identifying players is the easy part - we will have good scouts at the club, they're not the ones in charge of getting deals done though.
We do need to work to a budget, the player has to want to come to the club, other clubs will have tough negotiating executives, etc.
We're not privy to what is going on behind the scenes and it's stoked by paper rumours that might not have any substance, so panic and doom mongering is rife.
I'm trying to be optimistic. Hopefully we'll not get a sniff of deals and they'll just be done - like Osaze.

Scandalous that no one has been signed this week. Incompetence from the club is agonising.

 

Better the young guys show themselves in these friendlies the less chance we sign anyone, that's what I think is happening here anyway. Or we're just being played like fiddles as per usual. Probably doing the usual, waiting till we go out the CL qualifiers then sign a freebie and 2 * on loan from bottom half EPL teams.
