Finding it hard to be overly critical of Ange agreeing to triggering the year extension on Griff.
He's seemingly been in training early and head down, had chats with Ange and obviously came off sounding good.
We need strikes, 2 if Edouard * off. Makes sense that Ange would then okay this deal.

I honestly wouldn't assume this alone makes him a yes man or a terrible judge of the player. Like really, how the * is Ange meant to know this * would happen this week? Look at Griffiths record and there is points where he does look a great wee player, with some reasonable excuses for when things haven't went too well.

The signing of only players that this club have previously "scouted" is more telling than Ange okaying the extension of Griffiths, who we all know when he is on form, is a great wee striker to have.

Striker Leigh Griffiths has been sent home from Celtic's training base in Newport while allegations of improper online behaviour are investigated.

It is understood the allegations surround claims that the 30-year-old Scotland cap sent private online messages to an underage girl.

Police Scotland says it has been made aware of the allegations and will investigate.

A Celtic spokesman confirmed they have been "made aware of online comments".

"The club will now look into this matter carefully," he added. "Leigh has left the club's training camp as we do this."

 

Should be out the door , feet no touching the floor , should never have got another contact in the first place

Correct. On his own. With a PT. While his future was up in the air.

Not with the club. Not at Lennoxtown. Not in front of Ange.

Had he been turning up early for his PT sessions?

Apologies if I’ve picked that up wrong @Peej. Genuinely thought that by ‘he’d been in training early’ you meant he’d been showing up early at Lennoxtown for extra and to impress.

He was back training a few weeks ago because he had no club to go to for pre season. It was a PR exercise incase Celtic /Ange said no. The PT filming it and Griffiths reposting it to his story. Sad if we actually bought that.

Illegality has zero to do with it at this point.

The club can't, and shouldn't, afford this type of publicity.

He will leave by "mutual consent", take a year off getting pished with his fellow idiot mates, then sign for a diddy Scottish team the season after.

The club has done all it can regarding chances for him. I wasn't opposed in the slightest to his extension, but enough is enough.

If they are legit messages, we should rip up his contract. I don't care what the reasons were for keeping him, scumbags have no place in football.

For a new manager to come in and give a proven spfl goal scorer a clean slate was the right thing to do imo. Especially considering the state our squads in, that's not a 'yes man' thing. Ange is not to blame here. The blame is fully on Leigh Griffiths and hopefully this is grounds for dismissal and we can rip his contract up

 

Kennedy is still at the club and has been part of the last 3 coaching teams, all of which have publicly slated Griffiths' professionalism.

Presuming Ange has asked for this information from Kennedy and been given it, there's little justification for giving him another deal.

This season was to be the beginning of a new era. Getting rid of all the half-arsed crew that riddled our club last season. Griffiths was very much a part of that.

The decision to give him a new deal was atrocious even before this latest unsurprising episode. Knuckling down with a PT was all because his juicy salary was under threat. Now after another lifeline being thrown in his direction he's brought more nonsense to the club at a time we didn't need it.

 

Wasn’t allowed to travel to france last year cause he was to busy quoting film stars on social media and arguing with wee schoolboy huns to actually put a shift in on the treadmill and came back a wee fat * in our most important season for years and that was after players manager and fans all stood by him with his mental issues, you would honestly think someone like that would be so grateful to get another year, he would be going to * n back for the club but naw he’s too busy asking wee girls to send him nudes, don’t care how many goals he’s scored, guys just a horrible wee * and if he wasn’t lucky enough to have a talent for scoring goals he would be picking up his giro with his mates and drinking buckie in tunnels

 

He isn’t a proven goal scorer, he’s a proven liability. His last good season was years ago.
