It's relevant when we only play with one striker up front for best part of 7 years. We've played two up front for a handful of games and we had a lot of success out of it with Edouard and Griffiths.

So a back up striker isn't going to be scoring more than 20 goals a season unless he's an in prime solskjaer. Had he played 30 plus games a season as I said then aye I'd have a go at his poor goal scoring.

Griffiths won't ever be our main man if we have any ambition in Europe, domestically aye he'll do the job. The past six years he hasn't been our number one striker because we've signed two French internationalists while he's been here.

Based on minutes per goals, Griffiths has only had 8 full games last season and he managed 6 goals. The goal away to St Johnstone changed the game and won the match. The equaliser in the 3-3 Aberdeen game bought Lennon more time, the goal in the cup final against hearts helped win us the * trophy.

For a wee * bam he's still managed to make a contribution. He is a wee * and his team mates have been a shambles as well the whole * team and backroom staff have been a disgrace to be honest.

John Kennedy still being here is a * joke after his huns interview about the tactics being let their full backs cross the baw and we will deal with it with our amazing centre backs and defense, and we ended up getting raped 4-1.

Theres a lot of * who should be nowhere near our * club. Not just Leigh Griffiths.

Ange wanted Griff ,he got him. This is Griffs swan song, so lets see what happens . I think we will see a better Griff with no Lenny or (Kennedy )

ANGE POSTECOGLOU insists Leigh Griffiths has unfinished business at Celtic.

The new Hoops boss sanctioned a one-year deal for the striker after crunch talks.

Postecoglou is convinced Griffiths has the desire to kick-start his Parkhead career .

He said: “I try not to have preconceived ideas about anyone.

Whenever I have gone into a new position, I have always backed myself to make my own assessments.

“With Leigh, I just saw a footballer who I don’t think is old in football terms by any stretch.

He is a goalscorer, which we all know is the most difficult position on the field to find players.

“Leigh knows Celtic, he knows the league. I had a good chat to him.

"He said himself that he wants to make sure his legacy at this club is a positive one right up to the end.

“He probably feels like he’s got some unfinished business, so I am more than happy to give him that opportunity.

With the kind of football we play, I believe he can score goals.”

These * Charlatans from last year should be * punted by now let alone getting * contracts extended.

We aint gonna forget they threw the towel out in our most important season....Scoring and playing decent next season or not.

Name them , then you can write a letter to Ange telling him to get rid of the players that you have named in your letter .

And you one of those ones that now forgets what's these * did during our most important year? " we got a new manager in so lets love every * again as if it didn't happen"

The board cheated us, The manager cheated us and the players cheated us....now we opening up the * books for them...GTF.

Name them?: Outside Turnbull/Soro and Forrest...the rest were a * disgrace no more than Eduaord/Ntcham,regardless of tactics.

These * wont be forgotten for the tools downed....So its gonna take a lot to work their way back into the heart of this club.

And regarding Ange...I want this to work for him,am i a fan of this appointment ....No,but i hope it works out.

If he's planning in playing attractive free flowing football....Keeping these has beens ain't the way to go about it.

Is it realisitic to get rid of them all? Of course not ....do i wish it was that easy? Yes.

We move forward not to the side.....again we are just accepting mediocrity and its only just begun.

Unless this manager has balls and demands money for more better non downing tool players....Then we are just accepting what Lennon/Mowbray/Delia was.

I will be in a small minority...but outta 3 players the rest have a * point to proove and make a way of apologising to us....or get *.

I am not again accepting mediocrity from this * on the board because its a new season and all is forgot.

Time to move on. This year is financially more important for future domination than than the 10 was. Keeping players for the 10 was our greatest downfall. Ntcham, Eddy, ajer all wanting away and with offers on the table. Is it any wonder half the team played like they never wanted to be here when half the team never.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about his extension. I thought it was time for him to go but if he's staying I would hope it's on a similar wage as to what he'd get at the likes of Aberdeen or Hibs, but with hefty bonuses for successes.

I also wonder how much he'll feature throughout the season and how much his extension has been with just the qualifiers in mind. If he could fire us through to at least the Europa league groups he would more than pay for himself while potentially giving us time to find a new first team striker (I'm assuming Eddy is almost certainly going) he could be back up in the league to. My major worry, as always with Griff, is whether he'll actually be there when we need him. Too often in recent years he has not.

    So, yeah, mixed feelings really.

Nope not for me....Moving on just excuses all that * last season.

Im not blinkered to it being a new season and all is forgotten....This team needs a complete overhaul and i hope Ange understands this,i can see what hes attempting to do in keeping some players that know the club, but it aint just as easy as that. A majority of these players don't want to be here, oust them and get players that do and fight for this club...Grif has been misfiring for a year or 2 and his attitude is a disgrace....but he gets another contract? *

Big Ange could have set down a marker releasing him. IMO should have been asked to train without a deal until league starts then assess if he’s up to it/committed.

This is a decision that indicates very modest transfer funds, as I had expected.

I don't mind that Griff was renewed, if he's here and he does a job brilliant, we still need players, we expect Eddie to be away, afolabi is a non entity, bayo is an unknown that may be away and Ajeti I'm hoping comes good, he showed the talent at the start be for taat injury and the anti coaching that was at the club last year.

If we sign Nisbet and a proper Eddie replacement that gives us 4 (5 with bayo) which is the depth we need.

Aye griff has not been firing on all cylinders but he's hardly a complete waste of space and if he does fire properly then he's someone you want.

We have enough other bits of the team that need desperate attention to allocate the funds to, we are still * at the fullbacks, CB needs more, the wings need more, the goalie question needs answered

At least now we have depth in attack even if its not the super strike force we would love. As it stands its our strongest area going into the qualifiers with Eddie, Ajeti, Griff, bayo

I’ve come to agree with this, now that the dust has settled. Was absolutely raging at first, and I’m still angry with the fact that the contract was just doled out. Would rather have had him train with us for a few weeks without a contract til he proved to be getting fit (as someone else above suggested).

However, yeah, now I do agree that - if he gets near his best fitness (physically and mentally) and wants to work hard for Ange - it’s a no-brainier to keep him, especially if he’s third in line behind a new guy and Ajeti. A fit and firing Griffiths as third choice represents a serious, league-winning level of depth.
