Did you not think we needed to improve any areas in January?

It's a sorry state of affairs we are in. Every day you wake up and hope we have signed somebody, somebody tjat van go straight into the starting 11. We play a friendly tomorrow, the CL league game coming up quick and yet we are looking at starting with the same players that failed last season and even thensome of them want away. All.we have had are rumours, prob started by the Club, talk by Ange and McKay what we are going to do, the way forward blah blah blah. They will be judged on results, if they fail at the first hurdle with the CL qualifiers it doesn't look good for the rest of the season. It will indicate the same old structure of qualifying for CL first then spend instead of investing for the CL qualifiers then get your money back by qualifying. Hate to say it but the Huns look more likely to qualify than us. Talk is cheap it's some fecking signings we want to see.

Get the feeling people won’t click on to the dire situation we are in until that first lineup is down on paper and midjytland put a few past us

We did but would you have trusted Lennon to bring in the right players?

He should have been sacked in November at the very latest. Again board * up big time.

To be fair to @Jordann, that’s not the point he’s making.

You’re 100% right in that we all knew what areas we needed to improve, but @Jordann’s point is that without a Director of Football or Manager in place, we had no idea of formations, styles etc. It’s almost impossible to recruit the right players in those circumstances.

The fault lies squarely with the board for the lack of forward planning and direction. Folk are talking about writing off the Champions League this season, but the board have as good as written off the league too.

I think we are in agreement here. Lennon should have been gone in November as you say. If the board had acted in a competent manner, we would have had a manager in by January who could then identify players he wanted to bring in come the summer. We did know where we needed to strengthen in January though, and the board should have known this as well. Bringing in a manager as late as they did has all but ended hopes of winning the league next year in my opinion, which is absolutely criminal given the financial implications that will have.

The point is though, we did know we needed to strengthen, and the board should have known this. To then wait for as long to appoint a manager should have meant that there were resignations/sackings of board members. I think we are agreeing here. I would say the league is now a stretch too far next season as well because of their failures. They are being let off the hook however by the fans continuing to fork out their hard earned.

Good scouting means seizing the moment. we all know when you see a player 2-3 times and your mind says, 'that's a good un'. That's exactly what happened to me seeing Mark Viduka playing for the first time at Olympic Park in Melbourne. He was 18 at the time and he was virtually the finished product then. Tall but with great ball control, two good feet and not a pass wasted. It was obvious the joy he had in playing and the time he had put in, perfecting his technique over time. I now have the same feeling for a young player at left mid and left wing that is going to get a lot of attention in the media next season.

His name is Marco Tilio . He plays for Melbourne City coached by Patrick Kisnorbo, who played for South Melbourne, Leicester City and Leeds Utd. This young lad is a gem ready to be picked up. Low centre of gravity, fast, can turn on a sixpence, kills a ball dead in one move, two good feet, takes on players with ease, supremely confident, brave in the tackle and can take the rough and tumble. Great crosser of a ball to feet. Melbourne City are now part of the Man City group.

Celtic need to task a serious, serious look at this lad.

I'd be amazed if any of the board visited this page, but you'd think their sycophants would be all over it. The message is surely getting through.

    Surely tae *!

Tilio has just been rushed into the Olympic team.

    Interesting.

I think Desmond comes on here and has a shuffle seeing how angry he makes the fans.

Looks decent on youtube lol. Right footed left winger. Pretty sure he had a no bad season in the championship 2 years ago when west brom won promotion.

No offense, but when people describe a young player having all the positives, it usually means something is up. Every player will have a weakness. For example, a technically proficient, fast and short player is likely to avoid tackling or being tackled, because his mind will rightly perceive the risk of an injury.

Linked in the January transfer window too. If whoever it is that is trying to sign these players thinks this is the standard of footballer required to turn the club around then they are dreaming. We all hoped the removal of Lennon would signal better times but nothing that has happened since suggests we are any better off. It makes me sad to say it but I think we're in for a few years of sevco dominance, they are simply better in every department at the minute. Moreover they have unity and ambition whilst we drift along making bad decision after bad decision and showing about as much drive and ambition as a long-term heroin addict. The running of this club is presently so poor as to make you wonder if it's sabotage.
