I don't think I could cope with another season of Taylor not being able to take on his man or cutting back all the time. Definitely doesn't help fast free flowing type of football

 

I was hoping and praying that the board, realising the massive * up they made last season, would be eager to win back the fans favour by giving our manager the necessary funds to make some good quality signings however, it's not looking great so far and I sense that the wee bit of Ange feel good factor we have had will evaporate very quickly if they fail to deliver once again

 

Hes a decent player just not good enough for us and where we should be. Aberdeen/Hibs level.

 

Few things frustrate me more than seeing someone receive a ball wide, and they're already past their marker FFS! But instead of getting on their bike they cut back to win themselves a moment to size up the situation - while simultaneously letting the defense get back in shape so they have to be beaten all over again.

You won't see that with Angeball - or if you do, you won't see the perpetrator the following week. Any advantage has to be exploited immediately. Do your thinking on the run - not while letting the enemy recompose themselves.

 

What really * me right off is when I see we are in talks about signing someone and there's chat about it on websites and in the papers etc. We then * about haggling with the parent club trying to do some sort of deal, end up missing out on whoever it is, and the deal falls through. Meanwhile other clubs see a player and sign him without it turning into a saga. I'm not advocating that we throw money at every player we see but, as recent failings have shown, sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate and, if we really needed to do that, then now is the time.

How have we known since January what we need in terms of personnel?

A manager was needed yes. Certain positions are needed, yes.

But specific personnel, definitely not. This is why a DOF is required. If we had a modern setup we’d be able to sign players that we know will fit into the teams style. With no DOF or manager, we had no idea what our teams style of play would be, none of us expected Ange to be the manager as well and this style of play should be so different from anything we’ve had before.

Ange has only been here for 1 week, doubt any of the signings are actually his and he’ll want time to assess the squad to know what his requirements are for signings.

It’s definitely the boards fault for the late appointment and * about waiting on Howe but it’s going to take some time to get the squad built.

People are worried about the champions league.. I'd be more worried about winning a trophy the next season or two

Agree. Negotiations need to be made 'behind closed doors' and without hanging out your washing for everyone to see. Too many people who need to shut their mouths and stop leaking fundamental information to the media and other clubs.

 

But apart from all that, everything is awesome

I think the club are and it's sad to see but our 2 signings have been young guys from Wednesday. I didn't expect 10 signings but I expected some positions filled. For the champions league we have 3 Centre backs, the oldest is Welsh and they have about 60 games combined. We have no right back either. The rumours are players like Hickey, Mooy and Nisbet. None are inspiring, the club is run and heavily owned by *.

 

Think you’ve misunderstood what I’ve meant…. I said above we knew we needed specific positions but we couldn’t just go and sign players because the setup we have is *.

We have no continuation in place, so we don’t have a club style of football or a “Celtic way” that we always hear about. We went from Deila to Rodgers to Lennon and all of them play different styles.

Then we hire Ange and again, a completely different style. Yes we know we needed a lot of positions signed and still do. But how can you recruit when you don’t have a clue who the manager is, what the structure is and what our team style is?

It’s stupid to just sign players because we think they’re good. It’s needs to be the right players we sign to suit a manager or clubs style if we had a DOF.

I blame the board 100% for the position we’re in.
