Nae chance of us paying £7m for a 31 year old Argentinian forward with a questionable attitude.

Mat Ryan now linked to Real Sociedad. It’s appears as a number 2 keeper so I don’t know why he would go there, rather than stay at Arsenal, if being a 2 is what he wanted???

We need to see some hard cash being spent this week, if the club want to get this rebuild on track.

The more I think of this, it’s definitely an option for Ryan, but despite what has been reported by some websites he will be number 2 to Alex Remiro. If he is at all considering coming here, his manager must be trying to squeeze more juice from Celtic by shopping him around.

So looks like it’s a case of Celtic not paying enough… again.

To be honest I’m genuinely not that fussed about the keeper position. I have faith that Ange will get a tune out of Barkas, as will a couple of solid defensive recruits and a fixed back line. I have nothing to base this off of course.

Blind optimism and unwarranted faith are a perfectly sound base.

Where would the human race be without it?

Seriously, if Ange sees something in Barkas - or any of the young blokes he'll go all out to make them the best they can be. He has a particularly strong record at identifying and developing young talent.

Who would be the best creative midfielder Celtic have at present ? Who can open up a defense with a single pass ? Do we have another one as well ? We need to have brains with boots pulling the strings out there. If not, such players need to be bought pronto.

David Turnbull is the main player there. Rogic also. Christie as well but he's leaving so we're at those two. No idea what's going in with Cham. But he doesn't fit the Ange ethos at all.

think the greek connection with barkas and ange may help barkas settle a little more ! Think ange could use that to get his confidence back up and then we may see the real barkas

I wouldn’t be too bothered if Ryan goes elsewhere as I am not particularly keen on fairly short goalkeepers. He also had a terrible loss of form at the start of last season hence the reason he was dropped.

If we are going to give Barkas a go, we should sign Marshall as a capable back up, he would be free or very cheap and wages wouldn’t be that high. Ideally we would buy a proper new number 1.

Be a bit weird if Ryan went to Sociedad, Remiro is a pretty solid keeper, Ryan would be second choice if he went there.

David Turnbull, Tom Rogic and Callum McGregor all fit that description at the moment.

Ewan Henderson and Luca Connell have potential and Mikey Johnston from wide areas but all of them are yet to really prove it in the first team and in Johnston’s case do so consistently without getting injured.

Wasn’t too pushed on Ryan anyway.. so long as we are prioritising signing a keeper. * going into this season with Barkas as number 1.

I would've taken him but I won't lose sleep over it..

Think there is better out there. Whether we get them in is another story..

It deffo can't be Barkas as number 1. Don't mind him as a number 2 and possibly forcing his way back in but he showed nothing to suggest he should be our number 1 now..

Bain out the door pronto and Hazard out on loan..
