This for me we should really look to build our midfield around him and bring in players that compliment such as a proper ball winner to play with him and allow CalMac to get forward and help him cover the ground out of possession.

I would also like us to have a proper ball carrying centre midfielder as an option. Given the number of games we play having a pool of 5 or 6 to rotate for the three places and depending on opposition should be the way forward given we already have McGregor, Turnbull, Soro and a Connell or Roberston, adding a proper ball winner and possibly a box to box player shouldn’t be out the question.

Obviously defence is needed but a good Defensive mid would help in that department too.

Playing against top opposition in this Euro's will only make CalMa a better player when he pulls on a Celtic shirt next season

 

Reality is most Scottish players just can't compete consistently well enough at the top levels, far too inferior in terms of composure, technique, decision making etc

It's one of the biggest reasons we've done * all in Europe for too long, far too many Scottish players playing in too many positions who are consistently inferior at the top levels.

I hope Ange is able to grow a pair, I'd happily have a Celtic team with zero Scots in it, I cgaf as long as they are performing.

 

He's played against top opposition in Europe many times, he's the player he is and will always be.

 

I’d say this is more on an individual basis rather than based on nationality if I’m honest.

McGregor and Turnbull are two of our most technically gifted players.

 

Wouldn't have either in the starting 11 for Europe, there are far better players out there in their positions from the Belgian, French, Spanish, Italian, German leagues etc, just need to scout well

CalMac & Turnbull are good domestic players, need better for Europe though

 

Jullien should be the next captain imo
