You're not wrong - when I moved to Melbourne, I thought I'd try the local brews. First pint of VB was vile and left 95% untouched. About a week later I was in a different pub and thought perhaps I had just got a bad pint the first time so tried again - same result. Haven't touched a drop of it in over 12 years since.

:56: VB is horrible stuff. It’s what I drank back in the 90’s when I was 16-18.

When I was having beers in London in the 00’s, mates got me to try the Fosters on tap. I was extremely skeptical before trying, but was pleasantly surprised, thought it was Crown lager in the keg with Fosters on the tap :40:

These days the craft beer scene is first class :60:

Oh and to keep it on topic, Ange is in this week :50:

Were my faves down under. VB was dire. But loved by Asian tourists for some reason.

Anyway, back to Ange. Looking forward to him starting now. Be great if he could bring Mat Ryan and Mooy in. Be a solid start. And pronto. Getting desperate here.

    That late?

Nice to see we don't understand the concept of "early next week" at this club

No wonder things take so long to happen.

We know there's been business happening behind the scenes (where it belongs frankly), but I'm guessing there'll be announcements this week. Hopefully several and at least one high profile.

I bet they're doing to not coincide with Scotland at the Euros.

I can see the point to some degree, probably planned months ago assuming the likelyhood of not getting past the group's anyway.

But still rather see it pushed on by now (that Ange is out of isolation etc).

Just want to get in to it all now.

Still rightfully * off at this club/board and they aren't getting a penny from me any time soon (without drastic changes), but I just want the new season to get going now.
Get Ange in, see him get his teeth in to this squad (what's left) and get this AngeBall on the go

So the boss ain't here till Thursday and is still down south. Begs the question: what's he been doing down south. Negotiating some transfers. Celtic like doing business in London.

Hopefully, you are correct. We can't expect Ange to turn things around overnight but I'd be amazed and disappointed if he and McKay haven't got at least one deal in the works.

Anyone heard anything else about Ryan?

Read a couple of reports in Oz that it was a dead cert. Plenty of up tempo reports on the Mooy possibility also.

I'd suggest Ryan is about 51% but Mooy less than 20%.

The interesting thing about Mat Ryan is he was a decent keeper for Brighton. However, they have a ‘moneyball’ style when it comes to recruitment etc, and the stats suggested the keeper needed to be changed. They got rid of him for Robert Sanchez and conceded 8 fewer goals the following season (this season).

Not a massive difference but a difference in the right direction. I’m not saying I’m opposed to signing Ryan, just an observation.

Is that when put up against shots taken vs shots saved and put into a percent? If its just 8 goals less could mean anything. Better defence, less shots conceded etc. Even then 8 goals is nothing.

Not heard anything, just read a couple of reports saying Arsenal still a chance (which I don’t think they are) but the other saying he could come on loan(which would mean a contract extension at Brighton) to put himself in the shop window.

Mooy is a difficult one right now, his brother passed away a couple of days ago, so I think he has other things on his mind.
