I don't believe that he has just over 6 months to run, we tried to talk to him regarding an extension in October 2020 but he declined saying he has plenty of time and that too many people panic when you get into the last 2 years of your contract

 

If we won’t get anything like a million or above just let him rot in the reserves and don’t let him get any minutes in his legs all season watch his career implode

I've still yet to see anywhere officially reporting this.
Transfermarkt has it running til end of May like every other contract.

Only thing that fits here is that the papers have been snooping on a forum when someone has mistakenly thought it ran til January because he signed an extension mid season. Which still doesn't make sense because I am sure he signed it in October or November one year.


He signed for us at the end of Summer 2015 on a 4 year deal. Went back to ICT for 6 months.
He signed a 3 year deal in November 2018.
He claimed in October 2020 that he still had "plenty of time" on this deal, as he compared it to the time he signed the Extension as only having about 5 months left.
In an article in October covering that interview, The Sun go on to say his deal runs til Summer 2022.

I've been looking, but there is nothing coming up that suggests it runs out in January.

I really think this one is a misunderstanding between folk talking on forums and the media snooping in and picking up on wrong info.

i dont watch scotland that often but did he not score to get them to the euros ? either way hes a good player played out of position initally to ntcham into the side then to accomodate forrest's absence .to play arguably our best no 10 out of position was mismanagement
