Only won 50% of his game's for his current side in Japan..

Only won 22 of 49 game's for Australia..

Only won 15 of 32 game's for Melbourne..

    That's his last 3 job's..

Shiver me timbers it's worse than I imagined :eek1:

Funny how every stone is being turned in terms of checking this guys credentials. But we were just happy with Eddie Howe because we know who he is and associate him with bringing Bournemouth up the leagues.

Let’s be honest. It doesn’t matter who’s coming in now, it’s far too late for them to have a fair crack at this season. So you might aswell give Postecoglu the time. I’m drained by the entire thing I just want someone to back and a team built.

This is 10 minutes research as well.

We have two CEOs trying to fix this issue and seemingly neither is intelligent to do the basic workings here. No wonder we allowed Lennon to do so little for so long.

Ange may have a decent rep in the far east, fair play to him. But nothing about this screams out that this is the man for this job at hand.

It is lazy, City Group/Lawwells son suggestions that we have went along with because the only actual option we chased was Howe, who knocked us back.

Instead of wondering why Rodgers left us, why Lennon left in the first stint, why Howe is knocking us back, instead of understanding and fixing the potential issues that WE have, we instead shut our eyes and let the City Group * off another "project" that they seem interested in seeing in Europe.

His best record with any team in terms of points per game is worse than ours last season.

Eddie Howe in his promotion seasons:

    League 2 - Played 46 won 25 drew 8 lost 13 - win rate of 54% with PPG of 1.8
    League 1 - Played 46 won 24 drew 11 lost 11 - win rate of 52% with PPG of 1.8
    Championship - Played 46 won 26 drew 12 lost 8 - win rate of 56% with PPG of 1.95

Those are his 3 success seasons. Alternatively he was holding a relegation sized club (in fact smaller than relegation sized) in the EPL for 5 years. The EPL being one of the highest standards of football in the world.

What best bit of Ange have we missed here? His 3-1 beating by Man City in a friendly?

I think win percentage is a bit of a flawed stat when it comes to managing us, as he won't have been at any clubs with the financial advantage or expectations of winning that we have. The same could be said for most managers in football.

I'm struggling to understand why it would take that long. If he flies in after wednesdays match, he will be eligible to take training from Tuesday the 22nd of June, that's with 10 day quarantine and getting him over from Japan.

Give every club in Scotland £1m to buy all their players and see who wins the league, and how... that is what Ange took on in Australia and created the most successful winning streak in Australian sport.
Or give celtic the 10th highest budget in scotland and try and win the league with the most progressive football scotland has seen. That's what Ange did.
He won the asian cup in 2015 with one of Australias worst sides, beating out japan and korea who have significantly better sides.
He won plaudits from managers of the worlds biggest clubs 25 years ago when he was coaching South Melbourne (a semi professional team) at the club world cup in Brazil.

Eddie Howe has had more against him in a domestic set up.

Japan and Australia have some measures in place to try and keep things equal.

More often than not, European leagues are won and dominated by those who outspend competition, not by a little, but by insurmountable sums, yet Howe grafted a squad, squeezed its talents and got it to the prem.

Problem you have there is that level of success or consistency can't be kept up in England if you don't keep up with those who spend more money than you long term.

Lot of bitter revisionist bull being spouted about this whole thing.

I would, hands down, easily have preferred Howe over Postecoglou.

If Ange was some real messiah of coaching, he's breakout managerial job in Europe wouldn't be in * Scotland. End of.

Then spent £180m and got relegated. No sure thing in football.

Ye think? That line of logic means Bratbaak should have been a goal a game here.

Hypothetical scenarios that mean very little to Celtic and the task we have.

Going by this logic, we really should hire Callum Davidson instead.
