That's all well and good back in Australia, but this is his big break. A route into European football. The first time any European side has taken a gamble on him. He ain't kicking up a fuss. If Kennedy and/or Strachan are still around at the start of next season, it'll be because we've appointed a 'yes man'.

Whoever accepts this job is a 'yes man' in my book. It's a hiding to nothing, two weeks out from pre season, half a squad, no football structure in place within the club. A new CEO who doesn't know very much about football. Next season is a write off at this stage, any manager coming in is gambling their reputation and career to work for a crowd of charlatans.

Getting rid of Lawwell was a good start, but I don't think we can truly repair our structure until Desmond is gone.

That's why I think next season is almost a write off now. The board have * it by taking so long to get someone in that it will be a miracle if we do well now.

The problem is we need to get a manager and we need to get a structure in place. We need to start somewhere. I don't know if you can change someone's personality he isn't meant to be a guy that compromises.

It's also got to be a positive that Lawwell will no longer be interfering in the football operations.

I'm not happy about last season and the shambles it became or the fact we let our search for a manager descent into farce but we need to rebuild and if this guy comes in I'll back him and give him a chance.

We finished the season 20 odd points behind the huns, i thought there would've been some kind of reaction, a willingness to appoint as good a manager as we could get, never envisaged this mess.

    This for me.

If he keeps Kennedy or Strachan he's a yes man. None of your "Ange takes no *" marketing bollocks will change that.

Any decent manager, takes one look at Kennedy and sacks him.

    • He had a huge role in last seasons debacle.
    • He has a horrendous record since getting the interim job.
    • He's clearly a pet of the board which is always a bad thing
    • Most importantly, once we'd lost last season he made shocking use of the squad and mostly played players that aren't going to be here next season.

Any manager that keeps him is either a yes man or an idiot. It will be the first major test and it should be an easy one to get right if he's the right man.

Aye this guy will be thanking his lucky stars every night if he gets the job..

Well until there's riots and he's chased out for failing miserably..

    He doesn't stand a chance anyway. He's * before he's started..

I have it on good authority that they have identified where we went wrong last season and are planning to address it in the forthcoming one.

All I can say is, wait until you see the Christmas advert this year!

I don't believe that for a minute. Everyone wants to beat us. We need to have really creative players that can get past a full team defending for most games.

We need the players and the system to be successful it doesn't just come it takes organisation and coaching which takes time.

I think we'll probably have to not lose many points next season to be in with a chance of winning the league. We don't even have a defence at the moment.

I still don't think this is anywhere near as close as the media are making out.

The story broke out on Friday, with the majority of papers stating his announcement was imminent, one even said he was set to be manager by Sunday, while others were purely using the bookies odds as their source.

I've no doubt we've contacted him, either recently or a while ago, asking if he's interested, but with the lack of coaching badges, the issue of getting a permit and him also needing to self-isolate for 10 days, I wouldn't be too shocked if this falls through.

I could see us potentially going down the Maloney route under a DOF, but the big question remains who that will be. Of course, there's every chance Ange is announced tomorrow, but if he's not in by Friday then I think something else is brewing (pls not Keane)

The fact we know he's contacted Craig Moore about living in Glasgow and Moore thinkgs the deal is days away, tells me that it is close.

So on the basis its bound to fall through

We've definitely contacted him, there's no doubt about that, and ofc Ange will be very interested, but my point is I just don't think it's a close to being done as has been reported.

There rumours going around that there was a split in the boardroom about him, and with the recent stuff coming to light (Coaching badges, 10 day isolation) I think there's a chance they've changed their mind.

It would almost certainly be Maloney as Manager as the alternative, which could work under a DOF, but is still a step down from Howe.

I suspect the Maloney rumours have just been planted to make it look like we're doing something whereas we actually haven't done anything and haven't got a clue.

Presumably Harkin was the one that suggested Postecoglou. With Harkin now seemingly not wanting involved, we must be at a point where we will appoint Postecoglou because it's far too late to begin the process of looking for a manger.

I think it's time the board stepped out of the shadows and admitted they've * it. There's no sense throwing good money after bad. I would remove them all, but from their point of view they still have Lawwell there that they can blame it all on. They can punt him an extra bit of cash to be the fall guy here. His name is already mud to the supporters.

They can say something like Lawwell put all his eggs in the Howe basket and when that fell through they had nothing. Obviously it will be bullshit because McKay is 100% culpable as well here.

Of course, even if they do that it will only buy them some time. They will still make the same mistakes over and over again because fundamentally they have no clue how to run a football club in the 2020s.

Ange is Lawwells plan and I don't think the rest of the board are happy with the influence he trying to impose because he is leaving . Just my opinion
