Thats fair. Perhaps is more the obscurity of the leagues (relative to us, J League certainly isn't a poor level) that put people off rather than specifically the nationality.

I'm hoping he's more a diamond in the rough than a polished * personally. I guess time will tell. None of us really know.

I think Ange himself has alluded to the bias and lack of opportunity for coaches outwith Europe.

 

Would be less of a risk than Postecoglou.

 

Thought he'd have been appointed by now, still no heavy rumours online either.

We’ll no know for another 3 weeks, at which point we’ll lose out on him, flirt with Clarke after the Euros, miss him as well, and end up with Kennedy on a rolling year-long deal by the qualifiers.

 

I find it absolutely bizarre that people are actually on board with this appointment.

Bit off topic but what's the financial situation like at Celtic? I've read the forums that you guys interviewed Favre which would seem to be a decent appointment but nothing seemed to progress from there.

 

The finances are going to get hammered after this rebuild and a lot of the assets in terms of players are leaving cheaply due to the board allowing them to run their contracts down.

Celtic never go with anyone that wants a large budget. The amount wasted over the years on prospects that never actually play for the team is shocking.

We haven't had a decent scouting network since John park left. We just get guys from Man City or from Lawwells pals.

 

We must be skint, maybe the board are worried about pandemic and lack of fans continuing, maybe there using Ange as cover for the real manager coming in at this point I don't think any fan knows what the * is going on inside celtic

 

Tbh I haven't a clue really, but I certainly know that there are other options out there.

 

Lycian favre and Julien Stephan are two guys we should have been looking at. This guy works for a club owned by the city group, we would never have been looking at him otherwise, it’s a disgrace.
