I think Kennedy was the one really in charge before Lennon left. There were rumours there was a power struggle between them. He needs to go

Would love it if he could bring Tom Byer in at academy level.

He approached the club on Thursday night and said he couldn't assemble his team so he was pulling himself out. He wanted to dictate who essentially his boss was in the dof. As incompetent as the board was/is I don't believe we sat on our hands for three months to then refuse him a couple of coaches the week season tickets are out and the club are getting slaughtered by the fanbase. Howe was the boards choice because it got the fans off their backs not necessarily the best choice for the club going forward.

Knowing Ange the way i do he doesnt come unless he brings in at least one of his own assistants. Last 3 years in Japan he has had 2 Aussies with him each season. The guy is his own man.

He would be off without a second glance, but I suppose it’s neither here nor there. It would be dependent on him coming here and being successful here, and I would have no issue whatsoever if it was to happen like that.

Interesting he says he likes to build new staffs with people he hasn’t worked before but will constantly challenge/question him.

Not quite though, he wanted Hughes to be involved.
We all assumed Celtic are doing the DoF thing and that we are doing the restructure thing.
We put two and two together and got 5.

The strong rumours and talk from the media sources actually on the ball had it as Hughes coming in as Head of Scout up to the day it was all off.

I don't think Howe was asking for who his boss was to be.

100% that’s something our board are incompetent enough to do. Have you been watching the last few years?

If he has as much about him as people are saying he will have walked away before the window closes never mind the end of the season

I see it differently. The coaches not wanting to come is just a smokescreen in my opinion. No chance did Howe just ask these guys on Friday afternoon if they fancied coming with him to Celtic. He will have been in contact with them right from the beginning of his discussions with us. He will have known if they wanted to come or not. There was rumours it was because of the transfer targets the board presented to him. I think this is far more likely. They have probably told him that Edouard and Ajer will be sold, he will get a fraction of what we receive for them, get a few loans on top of that and he can like it or lump it. Howe has then thought * that, I’m off.

Ye but if Harkin was dof and Hughes was head scout essentially Howe would be dictating the signing policy. The coach obviously needs a say in the players at his disposal but I want a modern structure in place and everyone singing of the same hymn sheet. I feel the club bent over backwards to get Howe so much the structure under Howe was gonna be a * show. We would have had Howe running the first team one way and the vision from the club very different.

If he's part of the coaching set-up it's unacceptable

I wanna reiterate that I am as disgruntled about the * nature of the board as much as anyone on here but I personally feel Howe bottled it. He managed his local club with an armchair ride from the support and media. I have been on (not a member) of whatever the Bournemouth fans forum is up the cherries or something over the past two seasons a bit looking at stuff regarding mark Travers and Gavin Kilkenny (two Irish players). What you would have seen on there is very different to what you would see on the likes of here. Even when Bournemouth were rocketing to relegation and receiving some serious hammerings it was all very nice and calm. I do believe sevco releasing a few thousand Neanderthals onto the streets and probably completely unrelated to football arson at p,.l house did have an effect. I also think Howe maybe thought Gerrard was gonna do a legger on sevco in summer on back of winning their first title. I don't think Howe and his family fancy what being the Celtic manager will entail on and off the pitch. I also think Howe doesnt fancy a two horse race v Gerrard playing out on sky sports. But I agree with you that possibly Howe didn't fancy the budget or players put to him more reason we should be employing a coach that will instill the vision of the dof. Not saying the vision in this particular instance is right or wrong

Possibly he discovered that the board didn't have the balls or the appetite for the job. !!
