Only Chelsea, Liverpool, Barca (twice) and weirdly Wolves (after City had a man sent off after 12 minutes) have had more possession than Peps City.

It’s not a ringing endorsement of Ange, but I’m sorry those stats against a very strong City team while managing Yokohama (LOI reserve level according to someone on here) is very impressive.

It was the same when we appointed Lennon. Plenty said the same thing about who was the alternative. As if we are a wee diddy team. The board have done a great job in driving down the expectations of the fans.

I don’t think it is relative to be honest. It isn’t comparable.

None of those managers are within our reach. Bosz just signed for Lyon, Jardim was making * knows how much money last year and Oscar Garcia was sacked after a year in his last 3 jobs.

Out of curiosity. Did you defend the appointment of Lennon when he got the job? Genuine question.

Jesus Christ - are we really trying to draw meaningful conclusions from a friendly between Yokohama and Man City!?

Yes, because there is a meaningful conclusion to be drawn from it. A bad coach would not be able to dominate possession against a team of that quality regardless of the circumstances surrounding the game.

Time to pull your head in and play nicely pal.

Why would you watch plenty of Australian football if you thought it was *? Either you watch it because it's not *, or you don't really watch it at all and don't have a clue.

    I suspect the latter.

I do watch lots of Australian football and quite a lot of Scottish football. Hibs v Dundee can be a challenge to stay 90 minutes. And yet I was utterly gripped by Wellington v Perth this afternoon.

Of course, that has little to do with Ange and Celtic.

Looks nailed on that Ange is our man. Willing to give him a shot anyone of note he could bring from current employer

The options aren't just limited to those. There are plenty within our reach that other clubs of a comparative size seem to identify and bring in, Bosz going to Lyon as an example or De Zerbi to Shakhtar.

This idea that we interview Keane (a guy who hasn't had a manager's job in over a decade) Lambert (whose CV is middling at best) then have to plump for this Fergal Harkin suggestion who will no doubt be cheap and not rock the boat. It's just nonsense and sad that so many fans are falling for it.

There's no doubt about that. However, if Ange came to Europe to, say, Utrecht or something like that for example and did an excellent job there he would then be out of our reach.

He won't be afforded time from the fans if he gets off to a bad start. Howe would have imo

The point for me is this, look at those stats from the so called footballing backwater of Japan. Look at the possession, shots on goal, pass completion. Against one of the best teams on the planet, then ask yourself, what could this guy do with a better calibre of player at his disposal?

We cannot even come close to competing with those 2 clubs for managers in 2021. Would you have been ok with Maresca?

Oh gents…. Your in for the shock of your lives AP is a different class to what your used to at Celtic and I’m not disrespecting Celtic at all they are my team that I have supported since I was a kid…. And I am telling you he is exactly what you need at the moment he will come in and snap players and staff into shape and if they don’t toe the line… we’ll good luck to them they will be ousted within the 2nd day. I have a family member who was heavily involved with the aus NT when AP was the coach who also played in Europe under some big European coaches and played in the Aus NT when Terry Venables was the coach and he says that no one even comes close to AP

I watch plenty because it’s on BT sport early on a Saturday and Sunday morning and I’ll watch pretty much any football regardless of the standard. So I have plenty clue pal. And I can guarantee you, the standard is *. That’s not every player, because there is exceptions, but it is rotten for the most part.

This may not be true. Japanese players excel at: stamina, pace, work rate, and technique. Quite a bit of our players lack the first three. A typical J1 team is a better fit for Postecoglou's system than Celtic. We have more height, and better finishers than an average J1 team, though.
