Eddie Howe isn't coming and we probably were willing to pay him plenty. Who knows if Favre would have actually come but he's coming to the end of his career. I'd rather have a younger guy with something to prove. I know this guy's only 8 years younger but this is his big chance to prove himself in Europe. As I say I'm not saying he'll definitely succeed but you can't say that about any new manager.

here thts some pretty impressive stats , never realised there was so many teams in the jleague , hes third in the peague with 3 games in hand , if he wins them then they ate 3 point behind the leaders so not too bad a season ,

listen i have been very critical but if we are getting a manager who plays quick possession football and gets players fitness levels up to play 90mins at a high level then im willing to give him a chance , not excited but warming to it a little , his lack of paid transfers doesnt bother me as harkins will be in charge of that side , my worry is he likes to give coaches a chance so kennedy and strachan will probably be there but i wreckon he might bring this john hutchinson guy with him if rumours are true the hold up is them finding a replacement as they could have just promoted him in the short , if he can get mediocre players playing to that intensity then professionals at a good standard will be better

One of my biggest concerns with Postecoglou is his lack of knowledge when it comes to the UK and European player market.

I’m sure he will be well versed when it comes to the top teams in the top leagues but we aren’t fishing in that market for transfers.

It means he is going to be reliant on a DOF (who we still haven’t appointed yet) to recommend players within budget.

If it’s a ‘Harkin X Postecoglou’ project then we will be raiding City’s academy and other clubs within the CFG.

It's hard not to be negative with how the plc run the club with poor decisions after poor decisions....

There is a probability that we will be in a worse position next year and that's a huge statement...

I see people voting with their feet.....empty seats, merchandise issues etc.....
It looks like this decision has been made, can I remind McKay this is not rugby were Ozzie coaches have good stock, this us a monumental risk on his tenature..

I pray I'm wrong, but after the year we had prayer alone wasnt enough....again I pray I'm wrong....

I still am struggling to accept Ange is the best we can get
“No quality coach” are you sure!!

Lucien Favre said he was interested and was apparently interviewed. Think Dan Petrescu and David Wagner (who are both still available) also said they would be interested.

There are many managers without a job and I would think many would be interested

The more i think about it again , mckay is all about magnifying potential for his employers , is this a coach they believe that can get the job done but when you here the excitement from the aussie media and pundits is this a ploy to get celtic commecially wanted in australia ? Could it be that there could be tv deals , shops , bigger fanbase in australia ?

theres a lot of scots in australia but the potential to have the chance to have millions australians having an interest in celtic could be great for us commercially

    Favre, yes I'd take him,

Wagner and petrescu no. Wagner was utter * at shalke and the season Huddersfield got relegated attrocoius and petrescu has bounced about so much you'd get no consistency or build from him, he'd be gone within a year even if he did well

Simple, he isn't the best we can do. He's been hand picked by Lawwell jnr and his * da, and will be thrown into a management set up involving Kennedy and * laptop, under a DoF who's been picked because he's nothing more than one of Desmond's Irish pals.

This is another cheap experiment by the board and one I fear will backfire and leave us in the * for years.

So between the unknown Australian, David Wagner or Dan Petrescu you would go for Big Ange?

not saying they would be my picks but still better options than this guy right?

Never seen Petrescu’s teams so can’t comment on him. Seen a lot of Wagner and a lot of Ange. I’d take Ange every day of the week and twice on game days. Wagner can’t take the pressure, he had a pivotal game in the PL where he came out with PTSD and his coaching never recovered.

I think there is another play in motion here with the appointments of Postecoglou and if Harkin becomes the DOF then 2 CFG employees have come into our club at the same time? I know there is a connection with PL son but it smacks of CFG having a hand in this, maybe there is a takeover on the horizon.

    Why Not Favre?
Great experience? Knows the markets? Players know and respect him...

If hes interested why hasn't he ticked Mackay's box?

Why are we making poor decisions and continue to play russian roulette....there is something fundamentally wrong at our club....

This * sounds more like the type that would fall out with the board than a puppet type.

yeah i agree but the standard of strikers probably is t great , when eddies goes i hope we go for a real dembele type striker who plays between the goals and i believe we lacked that this year , eddie dropped deep or wide far too often, we need a poacher and i think the possession based football would be far better , how does his teams set up ?
