Ok, I’m going to answer your question and a few other questions in one, as some aren’t liking that a few Aussies are on here, and I don’t want to be rude nor shove Ange down the supporters throats.

I’m going to qualify my statements, that while I have been watching Celtic from afar, I hadn’t been on here for awhile either, so didn’t realise the mood on here had got so low, but watching what Lennon has dished up, I should have known better. I watch a lot of football, Scottish, EPL, Championship, A League, and odd games from Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Champions League, also watch highlights of Japanese league. So I know what’s out there.

Now I didn’t mention Ange because 1) I hadn’t been on here, 2) I thought Howe was going to get the job and but now knowing the club is a bit of a dumpster fire currently, I can see why you are up in arms.

Finished 9th last season, in a season where they played 40 odd games in about 20 weeks. He acknowledged it was madness not to adjust his high energy football. With that, he relies on his CB’s because they need to be able to play out from the back, but also to defend a high line. The first choice CB’s missed 21 games through injury, a lot of teams struggled this year with injury all over the world.

Yes, sitting in 4th at the moment, 18 points behind, but with 4 games in hand, Covid disruptions.

Reported in Australian media numerous times he has the 10th highest budget in the J League.

Yes hasn’t won for 9 years in the A League because he hasn’t coached there for 8 years.

Yes won Asian League (I know people like to scoff but it’s not as easy as people think) against South Korea who had Son(Spurs) and about another 3 or so Bundesliga players and Ki from Swansea(EPL and yes the one who played for Celtic).

So to rap it up, he’s a good manager. He doesn’t take * and is combative, but that’s also how he plays his football. He plays to beat everyone, believes he can beat anyone, not defensive * football, high energy, high press, high possession and high lines. It’s the type of football that Celtic expects. With that said, I now understand why you guys are up in arms at the board and with no DoF installed that does make it difficult for supporters.

At the end of the day it’s about the right fit and nobody knows whether any manager will work until the football is played. Have seen good managers at the wrong club and the wrong managers at good clubs. The result is the same, gone after a season.

And yes Australian who wants the best for Celtic. (Now back into my box and to watch the Championship playoff).

Everyones * off after the Howe fiasco, but the amount of bluster and over the top opinions based on * all is getting a bit much.

I get that we all mostly hadnt heard of him before yesterday but the total dismissal of his achievements i think is a bit unfair. The way Scottish footballs been nosediving the * Aussie and Japanese league will probably overtake this out of touch back water we're in.

The majority of names folk want wouldn't want to touch managing in Scotland, never mind taking on the almost no win job that the Celtic job could be for the next couple years.

Anyway * the board, * won't be seeing a penny off me a long long time for this shambles.

It absolutely is, the knifes will be out for him. He’d be in the spotlight more than the board and we go for the most obvious target. We always have as a fanbase.

People aren’t happy about this, we will go out of our way to put the guy down as a support unless he makes a very immediate impact. It’s like... see the abuse and stick Forrest gets? Somepoint long ago somecunts made an opinion up about him and they will stick to it no matter what and it’s very, very quick for the knives to get on his back because of it. That’s what will happen.

The only time we properly took a fight to the board, I think we were very lucky Tommy Burns was in charge. A man who epitomised Celtic, was playing fantastic football who we had a lot of pride in.

This guy would be a * to be sacrificed on a whim.

That just looks like Japanese football to me..

All playing out from the back and very comfortable technically..

Their national side is the exact same. I've seen the odd J league game this year on Premier sport's as well..

Inagine him trying to implement that with our defence. Lol..

One of the things I don't understand is Kennedy and Gavin Strachan in this * up with Eddie Howe. League has been done a few weeks now, and the board is trying to tell us that Howe had free reign to bring in his own staff (to be finalised after the playoffs allegedly).

Did PL inform JK and GS of this and therefore to find new employment imminently and if so, Kennedy hasn't been linked to any of the SPFL jobs which have come up in the last week or so (woulda though his agent would have had his name out there for these jobs). If Howe was approached a few months ago surely he could have easily identified and called his staff and easily found out if they were up for it or not. The whole debacle stinks, as does the timing of the ST renewals and the information re. Howe.

The * have got the audacity to mention terms like a rebuild etc in there ST renewal propoganda, but it looks like it is going to be same as last year with a few expendable members of the City group in the Aussie manager and Harkin and no Lennon.

I've not got anything against the guy either and i'll get behind him but it's the way they have handled this that's making people so angry. It's pure incompetence that has led us to this point. Everyone was * off about the wait for Howe but we were willing to let it pass thinking he was in the background making plans and he was all signed up. To find out he hadn't even been finalised and he/us had been doing * all for months is negligence and insulting. I honestly can't get my head around it. We had no plan B either, we are left scrabbling around and by the looks of it are about to make a panic appointment and yet again it's not the best candidate that's emerged via a recruitment process it's the old....someone I know, knows someone who might fancy it and he won't be making any of those annoying demands that Eddie was.

It's been a shambolic start for McKay and you have to start questioning whether the role is too much for him. Even if things to date have been led by Lawell. He should have been strong enough to tell him to back off. Alternatively if it's not Lawell but himself doing the dealings then I would be very worried, even this early.

Celtic are in advanced negotiations with former Australia head coach Ange Postecoglou as they seek a new manager.

The Glasgow club quickly turned to the Greek-born Australian after number one target Eddie Howe rejected the chance to take over from Neil Lennon.

Postecoglou, 55, currently manages Japanese side Yokohama F Marinos but could be announced by Celtic as early as next week.

Celtic have had John Kennedy as interim boss for the last three months.

In a statement on Friday, the deposed Scottish champions cited "reasons outwith both his and Celtic's control" for the collapse of the move for Howe following talks that had begun in early April.

The club added that they had spoken to "a number of candidates" and aimed to appoint a new manager "very shortly".

Postecoglu managed Brisbane Roar - where he won three titles - and Melbourne Victory in the A-League before taking charge of the national team in 2013.

His four-year tenure included managing Australia at the 2014 World Cup and steering the team to Asian Cup success a year later - the country's first major trophy.

He left after securing qualification for the 2018 World Cup and was appointed at Yokohama in December 2017, with the J League title following in 2019.

Celtic ended this season without a trophy for the first time since 2010 as their bid for a record 10th consecutive title saw them finish 25 points behind Rangers.
