Great coaches aren't finishing 9th in Japan 25 years in to their career. You would no doubt be able to dig out ex player praising Ronny as well it means nothing. If talking a good game about football means your a promising coach then sign me up. The guy is 55 and managed in Europe for a few months in the Greek 3rd Division he is our Pedro he can't be accepted

Remember what was said about Rogic when he first came in?

Ange Postecoglou is a seriously good coach who has won some very hard to win silverware while playing attractive football and constantly developing youth. His teams are very fit and work really hard to break down the opposition.

The J-League is far and away the strongest league in Asia and he's won it.

Winning the Asian Cup (or getting to the World Cup) means beating the likes of Japan, South Korea, Iran, Saudi et al - these are not the joke teams of 30 years ago. They are seriously good football teams.

His style revolutionised the A-League when he started with Brisbane around 2011 and people still talk in awe about that team. He won two trophies with them, then won another with Melbourne Victory.

    He wins wherever he goes.

This reminds me of when Arsene Wenger was appointed from Japan. "Arsene Who?" was the famous headline.

What does confuse me is, say this guy is the next Arsene Wenger - Japan based geeky footballing genius. How on earth do the hierarchy at Celtic know about him? I may be wrong, but Desmond, Lawwell & McKay don’t look the footballing hipster types that watch mid table J League games. They are businessmen. This Harkin guy is clearly already in.

The CL was never happening this year for me even with Howe. Not sure we have any decent players apart from Turnball and he will stay.

On another note why don’t folk think we will have a budget? Course we will we spent a small fortune last summer. When it was going to be Howe no one said we didn’t have a decent budget. The problem is how we spend it, which has been shockingly bad recently.

Surely you'd at least have Davidson before this Aussie guy?

Howe could have been a good manager for us, he was certainly my first choice!
The thing was, the longer we delayed the deal the nearer the end of the season came, the nearer that came the more jobs were going to open up.

I see him taking one of the English jobs now, it will be pure for the transfer budget and wages, it will have nothing to do with winning trophy's or playing in Europe.

I honestly see his taking the Crystal Palace job or something very similar.

I’m not saying he’s a great coach and I don’t want him as our manager.

Who knows why he finished 9th. Maybe they have a small budget compared to the rest. Maybe they were * with injuries all season. And to be fair, he did win the league with them before.

All I’m saying is by all accounts be * off at the board. We all are. But I think it’s harsh as * to suggest the guy is a diddy when it appears he’s been a success in every job he’s had.

The fact no one of any note is gonna touch us leads me to believe that we won't have as big a budget as is required..

So why give him a chance to become our manager. I've nothing against the guy I know nothing about him and up until last night had no idea who he was but that doesn't change the fact I will not appease the board by giving him my backing

If it’s true about Howe though his money was there and he was willing to take it on. Couldn’t get his full team on board though so he’s pulled out. Plus I’m not convinced it will be this guy. None of our usual people who get briefed have mentioned his name I don’t think.

What has he done to suggest he isn’t a diddy? Why hasn’t any other half decent side taken a chance on him before now?

He won * all at Melbourne and finished 36 points, I repeat 36 points behind 1st last season in 9th place, absolutely unacceptable for us to be considering this guy.

As * off as everyone else but wasn’t overly excited by Eddie Howe if I’m being really honest, a mind the Huns all laughing when we brought wim Jansen in for their 10 in a row season, also remember Paul le guen coming in was master class and a great appointment, guys certainly wouldn’t have been my choice who’s meant to be coming in but certainly give him or whoever comes in a chance, he will be a step up from the last manager though granted so would everyone on this forum
