Guy has absolutely been no value to incoming manager, surely he should have had an eye on the future, play Barkas, Soro, Demble, Monty, etc. But, no, retarded team selection, Demble gets 10min in last game of the season. *.

Why am I seeing reports he is a contender to get the job? Did I wake up in some alternative dimension or something

John Kennedy is in the frame to land the Ross County manager’s job – along with former SFA youth supremo Malky Mackay.

The Staggies have kicked off the search for a new gaffer after John Hughes decided to step down after securing Premiership safety.

Mackay is the bookies favourite and is looking for a return to the dugout after spending four and a half years as SFA performance director before leaving last November amid Hampden cost cutting due to covid.

The former Cardiff and Norwich City boss is tipped to link up with County coach Don Cowie – who he signed as a player for Watford and Wigan – but Celtic coach Kennedy is also in the running.

Kennedy is keen on moving in to management after 10 games as interim boss at Parkhead in the wake of Neil Lennon’s departure in February.

The 37-year-old is expected to be offered a role in the new Celts regime under Eddie Howe but could be tempted to go out on his own if the opportunity arose

Former Ross County manager Bobby Wilson – who led the club in to the Scottish league – admitted Kennedy would be made for the Highlanders.

He said: “I would see the boy John Kennedy as perfect for Ross County.

“Historically, Roy and Ross County really get on well with that Celtic ethos.

“John Kennedy would know that Celtic young talent stream very well and bring those contacts with him.

“That’s the line I would go down - a young, hungry manager with lots to prove.”

Mackay is another contender and could link up with former charge Cowie in the dugout.

County legend Wilson remains close pals with Cowie’s dad, Don senior – his former Dingwall no.2 – but he’s not sure about suggestions of a pathway to the hotseat for Don junior.

He said: “I think the world of young Don as a person and for everything he’s achieved in his career.

But I have to be honest and say I don’t think he is managerial material.

“He’s an absolutely stunning, talented laddie, and he may be different in a dressing room when given that kind of responsibility, but I think he’s probably too nice to be a manager.

“His dad was similar and didn’t like that side of things. He stepped aside in the end when we made it into the Scottish League and left the Highland League.

“Young Don has accrued a lot of rich experience on both sides of the border and may well be a great coach, but if Malky Mackay is the target with a view to him grooming Don for the post in the future, I would have my doubts.

“His dad was a confident person, but it takes a different type of confidence and attitude to make a success of it in the job.”

Former County keeper Michael Fraser believes Kennedy would be tailor made for the Staggies

He said: “Kennedy, should he leave Celtic, would be a really good shout. He is highly thought of and it would be a good job for him to start off with. I am pretty sure a guy like John would like this job.

“As soon as he looks around the stadium and training ground, that would be a big selling point for a manager. He would have the tools to work with and that will be a big draw. He’s just a name that leapt out at me. Roy might be looking at a more experienced manager, but going left-field John would be good pick.

“He is highly rated by ex-players and maybe he will want to come in and get his hands dirty by coaching them to play in the way he wants them to play. It’s maybe the best of the smaller clubs to achieve that because you will get support.”

No man is bigger than the club.

Except John Kennedy. He's got a lifetime job at Celtic. The board think it's acceptable that he should be imposed on every manager that comes in the door.

The board could not be more wrong.

He's the reason Howe hasn't signed for us. He's to remain as backroom staff.

    Selfish and self serving.

I'd have more respect for Kennedy if he did the honourable thing and resigned. I believe he needs to be forced out now.

Time for fan protests. Time for action.

We need to gut the board like a fish and hang its entrails over the top tier of the North curve.

It really was. I wasn't happy at him taking it to end of season but thought at least he will mix it up. Make it his own with a free hit. Was amazing (in a torturous way) to watch him do almost exactly the same things Lennon had been doing, same lineups, poor subs, daft sub timings. He needs to * off.

Kennedy will be assistant manager to the Australian no Tim wants. Strachan Jr will be there too playing on his laptop and writing things down as the team continues it's slide into the mire.

The thought of him still being part of things going into the new season just turns my stomach.

Kennedy must be Desmonds love child or something, I can't see any other reason why he is still there.

I'm starting to think he was undermining Lennon last season. Probably grassing him to Lawwell. Wish he would * off

I remember reading somewhere that he is Lawwell's son in law and that would explain a lot

What’s the story with a contract for this guy?

Does he just have a contract for life and can leave when he feels like it?

We all know the guys story, but it isn't healthy accomodating someone in this manner, should be a total clear out, with no exceptions.

If he's going to be shoehorned into yet another coaching set up I'll happily pay for someone to bump this * off.
