There is quite a few on that championship list that could be good under the right manager!

Would also like us to consider Charlie Wyke of Sunderland, had a great season.

 

I’d like to see us target clubs like slavia Prague/Sparta Prague, red star Belgrade, dynamo Zagreb ect, might not be possible but surely we can pay higher wages and with the lure of a pathway to England?

They are top clubs in their own right but in a part of the world that’s not really in the footballing spotlight.

 

If Eddie wants to get some players from Bournemouth I hope he gets their best players and not just anyone. I think one of the biggest worries of bringing a manager with no experience in the league is they don’t realise the standard required to win trophies and do well in Europe.

 

A few strikers I’d hope were at least looking at:

Sydney Van Hooijdonk - NAC Breda
Charlie Wyke - Sunderland
Dejan Joveljić - Wolfsberger
Jean Marie Dongou - Honka
Jan Kuchta - Slavia Praha

Could probably find a few more but there’s plenty of good strikers out there just now that we should be looking at, can only hope we are.

 

Charlie Wyke is 28 and this is the only season he’s scored more than 15 league goals. Having played in League One and Two his whole career.

Sort of guy Hibs and Aberdeen should maybe be after.

 

Of those I think Van Hooijdonk is the only one I'd have and definitely not as a first pick probably a 3rd in a 2 striker system or someone that would play wing as well in a 1 striker, did well as a left winger in youth so has that bit of versatility, only proven at Dutch 2nd teir though but one woth good potential.

Wyke, as said, has never been super impressive and this is his first stand out season, if we got him cheap he could be alright but does not fit our usual style.

Jovelic, probably be valued far more than he'd really be worth given Frankfurt signed him for 4 mil

Dongou, pretty * record all things considered.

Kuchta, this was his first decent season really, prior he's been a single figures man really and again, would probably be pretty expensive

If we want a potential signing id take haaland cousin Tjaaland, scored 64 in 37 for Bryne in Norwegian 3rd division

He’s unreal. Apparently available at around £5m.

 

I don’t think the issue is wages when buying from those clubs but particularly Slavia and Dinamo Zagreb because they have done well in Europe they are looking to demand pretty good fees much like we are looking to do.

What we really need to be doing is looking where they go looking to try and be an alternative destination.

 

We need to sign Josh Doig soon or we will lose out.

Maybe mate, those teams could hold their own against top 4 prem to mid table, seems silly shopping in the English championship

Giving them 5-10m for a player that’s actually going to instantly make us better makes more sense than buying potential crap for 2m

 

Would love Tjaaland just didn’t think he was realistic to be honest, probably have his choice of where he is going.

For the rest, it’s about getting strikers that could be improving and go to the next level, realistically we’re going to miss out on players who have had 2/3 high scoring seasons in a row.

Dongou is a bit out there but he was highly rated so think he could turn good.

Wyke hasn’t been great before this season but it could be now he’s on the way up. He’s a target man, scores headers and is a bit different.

 

He’s had a great goal scoring season, I don’t care if a striker does nothing else other than score.

Don’t know if he’d make it here but it’s a suggestion of someone a bit different who has scored a lot of goals this season.

Hibs and Aberdeen will no doubt be beneath him financially if any championship teams look at him.

And he could be free I think.

 

Oh definitely, there's talk of Liverpool etc chasing him. I'd like to think we would be able to show a more feasible first team picture but with the way we've handled youth this season unlikely....

Yes and no to that, we are not without clout that we can't get someoen that's shown some consistency, yes to get a just young(ish) potential signing it's less likely to have a record of consistency

Wyke has a record of past performance to a certain extent, he was good with Carlisle and Bradford but was * with Sunderland until this season. Problem with the target man style is we don't play like that so how would he fit. I don't think he'd be terrible but I also don't think he'd be great and I'd rather we put effort elsewhere in sourcing our strike force

 

It’s quite exciting, the prospect of Howe and a massive load of new faces.

Then you come in here and look at suggestions.

On another note: Read that Dortmund would be willing to sell Roman Bürki for 5m Euros. Actually a no brainer if we could get him for that amount of money. Brilliant reflexes but also some howlers.
