Gonna say something, I don’t think Howe is worth this suspense tbh. Good coach with good ideas and a good philosophy etc. But the way we’ve all been anticipating his unveiling you’d swear the guy was prime Guardiola or Ferguson.

This. Might seem to fit the bill in many ways but definitely feel like I’ve missed something.

I’ve been completely sceptical about the way the board have behaved this season and the new manager appointment with how long it’s taking to implement a structure that fits Celtic football club etc etc

Howe ever, I’ve got a feeling in my blood that if Eddie does get announced we will regain the league title next season. It’s maybe my biased 6th sense but I genuinely do think he’s worth the wait. Can see that big beautiful blond flick with the white teeth gleaming as he shakes slippys hands after we have turned them over in the first hun game next season

Couldn't agree more. I personally don't believe any of this bonus from/or still contracted to Bournemouth BS. Howe left by mutual consent - all very amicable. He wasn't sacked so no payoff involved - neither could Bournemouth stop him joining another club as that is simply illegal.

If there is any truth in this waiting for the playoff stuff - it would really show what a bunch of clowns the Celtic board are.
It's obvious to anyone with a brain that Howe would want to bring some of his previous staff/players with him - the names of his trusted coaches are all over the papers FFS.

Eddie Howe is known for being meticulous - I simply don't believe he's waiting to (possibly the end of this month) before approaching the coaches/players he wants - and what if Bournemouth get promoted and these guys don't want to come - do we start from scratch with our first ECL match about 50 days away at that point? The DoF stuff seems to have completely dropped off the radar which is also a worry.

Even if Howe doesn't want to formally start until June 1 - doesn't prevent him being announced.

I'd be amazed if it wasn't Howe at this point but you are spot on - given the amount of valuable time that's been wasted by this board - when they do eventually make an announcement - it had better be a good one.

The only comfort I’m taking for how long this is taking, is any manager that can take us up a level, would need to persauded to be here.

Any that snatches at it, isn’t good enough.

I get what you’re saying but I don’t really agree with this mate.

We’ve been convinced for years that no one wants to come here. I simply don’t believe that. No one wants to come here and work under Lawwell’s bullshit - that’s the difference.

This is a great place to manage and we can pay a good managers salary. If we didn’t * about we could get a good manager in every single time with no hassle.

Not only that, once we get the reputation as a good place to be it gets easier each time.

We need to stop pretending we need a long period of persuasion, especially for someone like Howe. We should be worried that we’re still messing managers about rather than pleased it’s taking months to appoint someone.

A Champions League class manager won’t just bite our hand off because we’re Celtic, to take us up a notch it’ll need to be a guy we need to convince to be here. The guys that would jump at the chance are your run of the mill guys.

That goes for any club that tries to attract a class manager, they need to be convinced of the project you want them to do.

Yeah but 2-3 months is excessive.

There’s a happy medium between biting our hand off and spending 3 months ‘convincing’ someone to take the job.

If we can’t convince Eddie Howe to come here we’re doing it wrong. IMO our reputation for * good managers around extends far.

It is mate, and I would expect it to be sorted by now but I’m actually hopeful because how long it’s taken, it can only be because he’s making sure it’s nailed down he won’t be * around.

or maybe I’m just hoping that’s what it is but the logic seems reasonable to me.

I think he's just waiting until Bournemouth officially finish their season before we nab their coaching team.

It could be seen as a distraction to Bournemouth because there would be speculation about the coaching staff?

    Eff knows

Then that's on the board why would or should the Celtic board care what league Bournemouth are in. If those rumours are true I'd be telling Howe to bolt become the manager of Celtic but still prioritise Bournemouth no thanks

Championship final is on the 29th of May, are folk seriously suggesting Celtic are going to wait till then to announce Howe - on the off chance we might turn a coaches head? Who the * cares.

It's yet another * poor excuse for a delay - a delay which is simply Howe wanting to see out a season at home and Celtic happy not to pay the wage for a month.

If we are truly waiting for the outcome of a Bournemouth game, then the entire * baord, Mckay included now, can all yet again get tae *.

We are Celtic for * sake, we shouldn't be waiting on any club, let alone Bournmouth, to figure out our own *.

Plus, if the deal is already done for Howe and he already knows the coaches he wants to bring in - guess what? The coaches will already know themselves anyway!

We actually think a bunch of Bournemouth coaches are sitting there waiting to see Howes next move to jump ship, but at the same time, dont know they are about to jump ship with him?

Or does the internet not make it to the south coast any more?
