Should Walfrid have not bothered because it took another 100 years for equality? Should we have ignored Black Lives Matter this season because black people are still being persecuted?

At no point have i said that. I only said there is other days this could be done but there will only be one last home game for a player who before this year served the club well and it would not have hurt to leave the day just about him.

Certain sections of our support continually support/dedicate a lot of their time for the Palestinians whether it’s days of media coverage or not so why should they stop for one day

 

There’s more important things going on than a footballer playing his last home match for a football club.

And they shouldn’t be mutually exclusive. Why can’t we show support for Palestine and celebrate Scott Brown at the same time?

And it could be hundreds last day on earth...some of us are just continuing with the support we show all year round

 

I think Scott Brown is well aware of how well thought of he is by our support, for his loyalty and what he has achieved while playing for us. That display wouldn't have affected that in the slightest.

I'm not clued up on the situation and going by the comments in here, I'll be avoiding the videos spoken about. The fact people are being forced from their homes and innocent men, women and children are being killed over a piece of land takes precedent over anything else, for me anyway. Showing them that people do care about them might seem like a nothing gesture to some but it may mean something to the people suffering.

 

Wouldn’t surprise me if that was the motivation for the board. Tories on the board = tory tactics.

 

I'll never understand the mindset of the 'Politics out of Football' brigade.

When people are so emotionally invested in sport and Politics is the governing of their lives, it is inevitable that both will intertwine at times.

When one of the suffragettes ran in front of the King's horse at the Derby to bring exposure to women's unequal status as citizens, do you think people were shouting "No the day hen"?

When the US Olympians raised black gloves and bowed their heads on the podium, during the national anthem at the 1968 Olympics do you think someone was saying "another time and place boys"?

People expecting Sport to be completely sanitised of politics are living in a fantasy world. From poppies, to Blacks Lives Matter kneeling, to Mandela banners, to Army days in stadiums, to minutes silences for Politicians, to banners pro and anti Scottish Independence. It's all there.

...and for those suggesting that Broony would be upset at the GB banner when it's meant to be all about him; don't be so daft. Broony knows that he's adored. The bhoys fan group were up at Lennoxtown the other week with a banner to thank him.

Broony also knows that the club's support has a conscience and that we will not sit silently while injustices happen around the world.

Our club was born through injustice. Our support have always been rebels with a cause and if that sticks in your craw then you'll just need to look the other way.

 

Have a day off for * sake and stop acting like your something different to the rest of us or the only one who cares.
