The Scum reporting that we are planning to watch Ali McCann of St Johnstone at Hampden today. Must admit that I have been impressed most times I’ve watched him. Clever on the ball and able to get up and down the park.

This rebuild is massive and yes I want us to bring in proven quality and experienced professionals to try bring back instant success. However we also need to build a squad and players like McCann could be a valuable addition to that.

Doig, voted YPOTY, is another one that I would take from the Scottish market as well.

Fair enough but they are also human and that's the enviroment we are in. If they are bitter huns like Lafferty they wouldn't sign for us and I wouldn't want them to either.

Quite like the look of this player Simpy for Crotone..

They're rock bottom of Serie A but he's shown up well. Just turned 29 so would give us some experience and likely in our price range as they're going down to Serie B..

6'6. Good in the air. Good finisher. Can play on the shoulder well. Decent first touch and link up for a big guy and his pace looks ok..

Would give us another option..

He's been a consistent scorer in Serie B as well, and decent at Portuguese leagues. To get a return of 19 and 2 in 36 games in Serie A is impressive, I'd certainly say worth a look at, but it won't happen.
