They can but they don't need to... They didn't announce Rodgers at 7am.. A chief executive would be different I believe, but head coach doesn't have to be.. They can announce the day before and then officially inform.

Honestly wouldn't have a problem with either Clarke or Davidson being appointed, but then again I'm not a snob who turns my nose up at a manager just because of the club size they're at, was also impressed with Clarke at West Brom & Killie before he went to Scotland, if they're achieving things they have no right to be achieving given what they're working with, I wouldn't turn my nose up at them being considered for Celtic as manager.
Don't think you can 100% guarantee that but fair enough

This has all gone on so long now that anyone other than Eddie Howe would be a disappointment. I think we’d struggle to find someone with his pedigree, ability and ambition who’d be willing to come here

Rob MacLean told the Go Radio Football Show on Tuesday night he also believes Eddie Howe is the next manager of Celtic Football Club but has been hearing potential contract ties with Bournemouth is holding up the deal. The presenter goes as far as the Celtic hierarchy dropping hints about the deal to the media without giving away anything conclusive

    Speaking on Tuesday, Maclean said:

“ALL CELTIC FANS ARE DESPERATE FOR SOME NEWS AND THE FEELING IS THAT THERE WILL BE SOME NEWS – MAYBE EVEN THIS WEEK.

“PRESUMABLY, IT’S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT IS FORMALLY ANNOUNCED THAT EDDIE HOWE IS IN THE JOB

“I’M HEARING THAT THERE MIGHT BE CONTRACTUAL THINGS GOING ON, THERE MIGHT BE LINKS STILL BACK TO BOURNEMOUTH AND REASONS WHY HE CAN’T BE APPOINTED AS THE CELTIC MANAGER UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON

“IN BETWEEN TIMES, THERE HAS BEEN THIS MASSIVE VOID OF INFORMATION, EVEN HINTS BEING DROPPED BY THE CELTIC HIERARCHY THAT EVERYTHING WAS UNDER CONTROL.”

For month's and month's we were left bemused as to why the board were unwilling to get rid of Lennon..

It would make sense if Howe was still tied in to some sort of contract at Bournemouth and why they chose to stick with Lennon and then ride it out with Kennedy til now..

It doesn't mask the absolutely disgraceful mismanagement of the club from above but at least it would give us some understanding of what has been the thinking when for month's it seemed like they were just mugging us off..

They all need to go by the way. I'm in no way sticking up for them..

No matter what happens next season, I hope it's the last for Desmond, Lawell, quite rightly, gets a lot of stick but he's just as culpable.

I’d take Eddie the eagle Edwards at this point.

Still a better candidate than Calum Davidson.

I know it's completely irrational but I think I actually despise the * already. If it is indeed the case that he is waiting on wether these coaches become available before giving us an answer, then that is complete hogwash. What will he do if they decide to stay at Bournemouth? Is he not going to take another job anywhere?

That whole scenario reeks of stringing us along, and if it is the case he needs to be told to take a flying * to himself and let us concentrate on someone else.

I genuinely don't think that Desmond actively takes an interest in football and is more concerned with playing golf. He will occasionally pop over for cup finals, AGM's or flag unfurling etc. but that's about it. I wouldn't mind that IF he throws money into the club and if he has someone (not Lawell) updating him every now and again

In fairness I would take Callum Davidson over Jack Ross. Davidson has done really well in a short career in management so far and St Johnstone do play nice football but I still want neither anywhere the job

    1. I didn't say he is playing exciting football with St Johnstone

    2. He's only * with the * he has and doing a * good job of it, how do you know he wouldn't have us playing exciting football if he had access to a far greater squad of players compared to everyone else domestically? * do you expect him to do with the squad & budget he's got, have them playing like Peps Barca? * me man clueless folk like you do my head in

    * sake, Callum Davidson.. He's had a good run this season granted, but really? Any manager of any club outside Us and Them have the potential to go on a run like that, if he had done it over 2 or 3 seasons and grabbed a 3rd place maybe, but after his first season just sounds like going against the grain pish.

Ross County got top 6 and won a cup in 2016, didn't see anyone wanting Jim McIntyre as manager then.

Who was the last manager to win a domestic cup double in Scotland outside us and Oldco? This isn't an ordinary achievement mate, especially in his first ever season in management

If he pulls it off, it would be amazing for sure aye. But too suggest that one overachieving season in Scotland is enough to be giving the chance to front up our rebuild and take us forward is a massive stretch and would never be backed by supporters, and its nothing to do with snobbery

He seems like a right decent manager at the moment, but he needs to do more than just one season in Scotland to merit the job, as unlikely as it is, he could just as easy end up 10th next season the way it works up here.
