Potential Manager Suggestions?

Howe has worked with him, if Burchill comes in that's his appointment and I'm fine with that. Him being pre Lawwell gives me some confidence in that.
England's lower leagues can have some gems, especially if you catch them young. It isn't a bad thing to know about.

Griffith to prove himself under new manager to see whether he gets contract which expires in a few games tells me someone is already working behind the scenes or that someone will be in for the few remaining games after the huns game , anyone else think that?

 

Mark Burchill is a * ... I base this on nothing other than playing in a charity game with him where he introduced himself to everyone by standing in his boxers and referring to himself as Burchy.

I think its all settled. I believe transfers are all lined up aswel. Ins and outs. Its going to be an absoloute burst of signings out the trap. Followed by the usual 1 big signing "if we make the champions league" if not the last day loan to appease sky sports transfer day.

 

It’s a very expensive market but mate, and quite an uninspiring one as well. We need to cast the net wider.

Didn’t know he’d worked with Howe though, that makes more sense.

 

It can be expensive, but there are some talented young guys who's contracts are ending and you can pick em up. Good players sometimes play in mediocre teams. Obviously it shouldn't be our main focus but you can't ignore it.

He is part of the scouting team at Bournemouth, Howe had him promoted to one of the head scouts.

Exactly right - Howe will need someone who knows the club and, as you say, he has worked with Burchill before. If Howe chooses to bring him in - that's fine with me.

No he does not, the whole "knows the club" stuff is bolloks and burchil hardly knows the club, he was here over 20 years ago, a lot has happened since. If we wanted people taht know the club then we have lennon and Kennedy, that turned out well this year....

I've nothing against the idea of burchil being part of the setup, if he is up to the task that is.

 

To be honest I think Burchill being a former celtic player is just coincidence or Howe has spoken to people and he is one that would come up with him.
I think a lot of guys from Bournemouth won't want to come up here if they still have a job there especially as they could promote

 

I tend to agree with this. If he can do the job well that's fine, but "Knowing the club" is a con rather than a pro for me.

 

The 'knows the club' nonsense is part of the reason we're in the mess we're in.

Time for the 'old boys club' and 'jobs for the boys' mentality to end.

The comparison with Lennon/Kennedy is irrelevant. Lennon was chosen by the board because he was cheap and Kennedy was forced on him by the board.

I'm talking about Eddie Howe (assuming he is the manager) choosing to bring in Burchill who he has worked with before. His decision - nothing to do with the board.

I don't know much about Burchill but some people here seem to have a genuine dislike of him.

Fair enough - as far as I'm concerned, if Eddie Howe comes in and wants to bring in Burchill as part of his team, that's good enough for me.

 

So what’s happening I’ve heard about 5 different stories so far and that’s just what appeared on my what’s app apparently it’s this Tuesday for an announcement but as far as we are concerned it’s about 30 Tuesdays to late

if it does ever happen and it is Eddie Howe then he better have a master plan ready because he only has 6-8 weeks to get this * show sorted out
