Congerton was his first choice mate.

 

I mean his first choice players.

We will never know but the fact is the players Rodgers ended up with were 3rd or 4th choice.

 

Always will happen at a club like ours if we’re being ambitious with who we can get. We would still be in the same position off the pitch though. Leaving us in that state is unforgiveable.

Hiring Congerton in the first place was unforgiveable as well, he done the exact same thing to Sunderland - and look how similar that story is from when he left them. Shambles on and off the pitch.

 

I couldn’t agree more about Congerton.

I hope this is why we are going slow with Howe. We need our own guys in the other roles.

He left us with Izzy as our back up left back, you can't just scout a first choice, that fails and oh it's Izzy. Right back Congerton failed to replace Lustig too. Yeah maybe the board could have pushed the boat but there were better full backs available for * all in our own league and in places like league 1.
