My first choice in comp was Iron Maiden then changed to Makin Time. Ah well.

Well done guys and a great round. Was wanting to do a 2.5 each vote between Talking Heads and New Order but that’s what the comp is all about. Good job @Marty McFly :50:

Cold Chisel was my 4th choice, after The Cure, INXS & Neil Finn were all ruled out. C'est la vie.

Why was Neil Finn ruled out?

I wanted to like Cold Chisel as its such a cool name. Never has a group sounded the complete opposite of what their name would suggest though :giggle1:

I had no idea Neil Finn played with Fleetwood Mac.

Crowded House are orders of magnitude better than Fleetwood Mac. What a loss to the competition

Because Neil Finn was in Split Enz until 1984 & then formed Crowded House in 1985/6, was hoping to use Neil Finn songs from both of these, but was not allowed.

You'd probably like Spli Enz as well then, although some of their stuff could be bit more arthouse. SE started off with Tim Finn as the main man and over the years it gradually became more and more Neil Finn driven, but there are gems all the way through and worth checking out if you get a chance. :50:

Oh, and you'd probably also recognize the drummer, Paul Hestor (RIP :( ) who was part of both Split Enz & Crowded House. So 2/3's & sometimes 3/4 od Crowded House were from Split Enz, only Nick Seymour was new.

Speaking of which, if you've not head of Nick Seymour's brother Mark Seymour, his band, Hunters & Collectors is another highly recommend checking out. Holy Grail, Throw Your Arms Around Me, Do You See What I See, etc. :50:

I liked Makin Time, kinda Northern Soul, hadn't heard of them before.

I liked Cold Chisel from what I can remember, again I hadn't heard of them.

    Good to get something different

Cold Chisel were decent. Not what you expect from a band name like that.
