If Mourinho was still regularly winning trophies then it’d be a different argument.

He’s won three trophies since 2012. A League Cup, Community Shield (which is a glorified friendly) and the Europa League with Man Utd.

Mourinho between 2003-2011 was an elite manager. No debates. But he hasn’t been in that conversation for a decade now.

I can't understand how the club are relaxed. Seems like they're the only * this season that are relaxed. Accepting mediocrity. *.

He won the premier league is 2015 too but there was a sharp decline the following season. Given the money he has spent he should have won more and Man United and hasn't challenged for the league since then even when united came 2nd they were miles off City. If someone like him or Benitez came in when Rodgers left I think it would have been okay but I don't think they would do well building a whole new team.

 

If Mourinho was still winning trophies then we wouldn't be getting mentioned in the same sentence as him. No that I think there is anything in it anyway right enough. If Mourinho was the come here though, he would be back winning trophies at will, I have no doubt about that. Rodgers had won nothing before coming to us mind.

 

Mourinho knows the gig is up for him, especially as far as English jobs are concerned. That being the case he’ll be angling for a job in Italy I’d say. Juventus (Such has been their shambolic recruitment in both playing and management staff since Allegri left) or else Inter if Conte leaves this summer because of the ownership apparently aiming to sell key players in order to recoup funds. Part of me would hate him to go to Inter though, aside from Porto it’s the only club he’s worked at where he is worshipped to this day. If he messes up there it really would be a sad indictment of how far he has fallen, scrambling about trying to rekindle old flames.

Really hope the Mourinho story isnt true cause I've been living in hope that weve got howe sorted and were justing waiting till the end of the season to announce it.

We need to address the club structure that brought us to this point. I want to hear from the club about a DoF and the recruitment of staff aimed at putting a long-term plan in place.

The Cynic did a really good podcast on club structure recently.

Mourinho teams defensively over the last eight years have been a disaster and we have that * problem just now and we don't need yesterday's man at the helm to keep us defensively bad and costing us a fortune and the board need to get a move on now .
